great plains drifters: cycling in Mongolia

I love to read stories about these guys, like how Maral Erdene-Batmunkh supposedly put on as much as 25 kilos on purpose to be able to handle the cold and train better in the winters and how another rider's parents were poor and couldn't afford a horse and got a bicycle for their son instead.

This is a place to discuss what's new and what's going on and maybe fun stories as well. Jambaljamts Sainbayar, arguably the best mongolian cyclist right now, is starting in the Tour of Greece (or Hellas), the first edition of the race in ten years. Sainbayar is strong uphill and a top ten overall is realistic for sure. Here's a portrait from a couple of years ago
