In the giro purito crashes out granting quintana a free win.

In the tour Contador and Froome crashes out granting nibali the right to ride at 50% and still crushing some random french riders.

In the vuelta now quintana gives up in the vuelta granting Contador a free win? Or am i speaking too early.

I'm a contador fan but winning this way ain't the same, unlike some nibali fans i can admit that ;)

ugh not this. seriously there are tons of riders who crash out any gt that nobody cares about. so of course statistically some favorites will crahs out as wlel. it's always been that way

The big difference between the Vuelta and Tour is that Contador in the Vuelta proved to be the best climber in the race before Quintana's crash. In the Tour Nibali was distanced uphill by Contador when he still was in the race.

I never said this doesn't occur in cycling, but give me the year where this thing happened too? It just sucks that it happened to this extent.

Just to remind you:

-giro main favorites: purito and quintana. Purito crashed out.
-Tour main favorites: froome and Contador. Both crashed out.
-Vuelta main favorite: Quintana (at the start he was considered the main fav). He crashed out.

Tell me when this last happened?

You should be happy, i gave nibali credit for only riding at 50%.

Don't be ridiculous. He rode every mtf at 85% + ;)
And ofc we ca admitt that it would have been nicer if he had beaten AC, Froomey and Quintana in the race, and it would have been even nicer if he had beaten Armstrong and Pantani too, but it did not happen. The only thing that happend in the race was a total domination from start to finish, destroying everyone incluing some "random frenchies" that btw. beat ACs second biggest challenger (after JRod) in the Vuelta Valverde.

@Netserk, that's true.

In both MTF's Contador was better than quintana and in the ITT he was ahead of him.

But quintana could have definitely improved a lot in the last week and there was room for some crazy attacks on Contador's weak team.

I think what happend before the 06 tour is worse than all of this combined ;)

I thought the whole excitement of the Vuelta was virtually everyone being there to compete against each other, and now that just one has gone it's worthless all of a sudden? What about everyone else?

Quintana was already losing time in the climbs anyway. Valverde seems better than him. He's been riding since January. Just because a newspaper says someone's a favorite doesn't mean they actually are.

Froome is done for, i hope i'm wrong but he looks cooked.

And the only way you can beat Contador is by going from far. Piti and purito won't drop Contador on the last climb, when was the last time that happened?

And when was the last time that it happened that purito or piti risked their GC classification by attacking from far out?

lol so you have one stage where quintana lost a little time in the first week on an epxlosive final. wow strong argument

also on vadelinares he was equal to contador as they finished in the same time that despite being an explosive final. so you can see how much quintana was improving dya by day

Let's forget the fact that purito dragged quintana with him and that his teammate closed the gap on the flat section

So Contador was equally strong as Valverde on the first MTF?

To win any race you have to finish it.

This! Or "Every man is the artisan of his own fortune." Simple as that. Stay on your bike. Okay, I have to admit that sometimes there is nothing you can do. E.g. Garmin TTT at the Giro. One guy falls and the others are not to blame. But most times the riders crashed, because of own faults. Contador during the Tour, Froome on multiple occasions this year and also Quintana.

Again this, why just people can't admit that a GT win is a GT win no matter against who is taken,Nibali won because he was the best not because Froome and Contador crashed out.I never liked Contador TDF 2007 or Vuelta 2012 wins but he won them and he deserve them.If Contador is gonna win this Vuelta is because he's the best not because Quintana crashed out or Froome is sucking etc.Plus i don't get it why was Quintana considered the main favorite to win this Vuelta:confused:
