Max Sciandri?

Correct! A fine rider, one of those that almost won quite a few monuments. Good on short hills with an amazing finishing punch. He did win some GT stages.
(I consider him British by the way - half way through his cycling career he changed from Italian to British citizenship, that's way I specifically wrote "he is not an Italian citizen.")

Mariano Canardo?

Canardo it is.

Mainly chose him for his record 7 overall wins in the Volta Catalunya.

My wild guess paid off.
I'm gonna get the two obvious one's out the way (though I know it is against the rules)

(I appreciate the change in phraseology)
