I'm a bit confused now. I had initially missed the lone Belgian winner of the Peace Race, but neither Belgium nor Denmark have five or more land borders.

Did he changed nationality overnight, since now he is from a country with five, or more, land borders?
Does the flag of his new nationality contain blue?

You just have to accept he's Belgian, despite the facts that Belgium only has four land borders and that the 2004 Peace Race started in Brussels.

He is Belgian. Belgium has borders with 4 countries (hence my original 'No'), but when you look at the enclaves around Baarle-Hertog/Baarle-Nassau there are about 30 discontinuous borders. (Hence my technical 'Yes')

I (being ignorant of the 2004 Peace Race) actually thought that Samu had discounted Belgium for precisely this reason, which is why I went back and changed it.

But apologies for missing that the 2004 Peace race started in Brussels: I scanned the list but obviously not closely enough. My bad. (However, I am not sure that I would have given a clear Yes: I would say that Ireland "hosted" or "has hosted" the Giro, but not that it "used to host" it: that tense implies something habitual or repeated)
