I had a 2 metre brown snake on the road sun baking them things can jump twice their own lengh and attack and they are deadly.
No detour available just let it move away and sneak past .
small ones I try to aim the front wheel at their head but this was the king he was big. Things you see when you dont have a gun.

when living in New Mexico, I used to come across rattlesnakes the size of my forearm. I feared the locals, who threw glass bottles at me, more than the wildlife. It was the only place in my travels, I wish i had carried a 9mm. Then moved down to Texas. No mtb cause every strip of that state is surrounded by barbwire.

I am in the rain season, at the moment, so lots and lots and lots of mtb'ing. I have about 15miles of trail outside my doorstep. Up here rocks, rock ledge, roots, short sections of smooth singletrack. Slow and technical. fun stuff this northern new england

Wow, just read up on that variety, it's the second most venomous snake in the world. The Inland Taipan (the most venomous) is 200-400 more venomous than a rattle snake. So i would imagine this bad boy is close to that.
