Hi Guys, my shoulder width measured at my LBS with a rig was 43cm. Should I buy a 42 OR 44cm centre to centre width handlebar? I heard a slightly narrower one is best??? Thanks for any help.
Cheers

What application?

Racing? Long distance riding? Cruising around town?

Narrower is preferable in racing because it allows you to fit through narrower gaps. (although this doesn't make a difference most of the time it must be said).

For longer rides, you MAY find a wider bar more comfortable.

Really it is a personal preference thing though. Ride both types and see what feels more natural to you.

I have riden 42 for years and now I got some 46 Bontrager racelight carbons they feel good and can get my elbowes out better in a sprint.

I have neck issues so it hepls me and comfort is good. The wider bar will help decending into corners as they work with chest as a break

Go 44 they are great.

Head down bum up and zig zag.

You might find slightly more leverage for out-of-the-saddle climbing efforts with the wider bar. On the other hand, you might catch more wind.
