No - they haven't - although off the top of my head Zoetemelk finished all 16, Van Impe & Eki both finished all their 15.

@Polish - cool list, do you have a list of how many races that they managed to finish??

Correct on "pas d’abandon" for Mr Z, Van Impe & Eki.

Big George dnf'd his rookie tour.
Christophe Moreau had 3 dnf's and 1 exclusion (festina 98)

The stats are compiled by the Tour de France.
It lists the number of starts. Starting is considered a major accomplishment.

http://www.letour.fr/2010/TDF/HISTO/us/statistiques.html

Scroll down to the "statistics" for the worksheet...page 12 of 12.
It will list the placing for the riders in each year.

The stats are through 2008.
I added in the 2009 results for active riders lance, jens, and stuey.
Did stuey start in 2009? I assumed yes.

could this be unlucky number 13

The Trofeu Joaquim Agostinho is coming up soon. That's usually a source of fun, exciting racing. We can probably get to see how the Liberty Seguros youngsters are doing, too, in particular Fabio Silvestre, who's been in excellent form. And I can laugh at Liberty Seguros for tempting fate again.

On the subject of spelling errors, TourChampion has aroused my ire by perpetuating the "Euskatel" error. It's "EuskaLtel", damnit.

Pet peeves:

"Óscar Friere"

"Paolo Salvodelli"

etc.

THANK YOU!!!

Also very surprising to see Christophe Moreau on that list. He never strikes me as being as old as he actually is.

Obviously people have a different definition to me on what constitutes a hard man

Jens, the modern definition of a Hard Man
Stuey, bows to one man (see above)
George, done the time, done the crime

Moreau and Armstrong though, Hard men... NOT

BTW, I have O'grady down for 13 already, remember that he equaled Anderson last year, and yes he did start 2009

Here is a link from the website, http://www.letour.fr/HISTO/us/TDF/coureur/409.html
Counts 13 to me

Agree with you on Jens, Stuey, and Big George.

And Moreau & Armstrong do stand out....
Moreau a bit of a drama queen....
Armstrong the ONLY multiple Tour winner amongst the top hard men. awesome.

I could be wrong on Stuey's #....the TdF stats or my adding....

Anyway, different topic, how many Festina sit-down strikers in the 2010 TdF?

stuey? & robbie (below), george, moreau in jail, was jens there?

This was the Stage 12 Rider Strike. Protesting journalists going thru trash bins.
Not to be confused with the stage 17 Protest.

Ohh,aren't they cute, like little puppies
Quick check and Jens has 12 in a row, so yes

Actually the bit you linked to said the number you had, but my memory said more (because I know last year he equaled Anderson as the most starts from an Australian, mind you Ando only missed one - TVM were not invited in their first year - and finished all he started LEGEND!) and a quick check in my "Official 2010 TdF guide" (said in deep authoritative voice) had him down as more, which is why I went to the main site to check

Not saying CM and LA aren't tough, just not Hard, never seen the wind in their lives until the last 20 km, where the other 3 guys will pace the entire peloton for the first 200 km... including 2 mountain passes, THAT is Hard ;)

Hard Men All. Still Active in Bold

Actually there is another rider who started 13 Tours - Jaan Kirsipuu. And here is interesting record: he started 13 times but never finished.
