Hi - ? Campy Mexico Wheelset to Shimano Freewheel ?

Hi everybody !

I am a Midwestern Cyclist in NE Ohio, USA

I am 71, but still ride the good country roads around here as much as I can in the good weather. My main road bike is a 97 Boston Merlin Road frame with a campy 10 speed drive train. Love it because for every effort made, I get something back from the bike. Its a great ride. There is also a good bike path nearby.

I am thinking about putting together a flat bar bike from an 96 Bianchi "Campione de Italia " frame and wheels I have. I really want to use these wheels as they are original to the frame. I'm good on everything else , but stymied about converting the stock freewheel on my 96 Campy Mexico wheels to a Shimano compatible freewheel model. I see some conversion freewheels are available, but have been cautioned to find out for sure.

If I disassemble mine and look at the construction to see what do I need to see to know if the conversions will work. ? Provide a Picture ? Just don't know what to look for without buying a part blind. Does anybody know how to tell ?

Any help appreciated - even a reference to another place to look.

Thanks ,

Boardhead
