I was involved in a discussion last night in The Next Step Thread. It centred around whether it is necessary to smear the LiveStrong charity to prove Armstrong doped at the tour, whether some of the behaviors directed towards Armstrong were in fact its mirror image, and whether Race Radio is right to believe most of the people he disagrees with are paid for by Public Strategies, not just one of the millions of Armstrong fans.

The discussion was naturally a bit heated due to the subject matter, but it was quite substantive and didn't step over the line. Anyone who read it can testify to that. However I did receive a private infraction from moderator Martin for replying to Race Radio's claim that Armstrong is a sociopath, by saying some of RR's behaviours might also show that tendency but it's not for us to make that call. I apologised to Martin and said I had not been aware there is a different standard for public figures in the forum than for users, but did now.

I thought nothing more of it, but obviously assumed Race Radio was given an infraction as well for disrupting the thread by posting irrelevant pictures on Armstrong's favorite drink, and for baiting me by asserting I was paid by Public Strategies. I presumed Dr Maserati received one too for deliberately using the wrong name for me, and doubtless BroDeal for calling me a "***". The mods here are fair and consistent, I thought.

As I rapped up the remaining questions and was about to log off, I noted Race Radio had posted someone's name and a link to their home address in the thread. Needless to say, on top of the other infractions he must have received this week - not just for this thread, but also for the off topic thread about strip clubs and other creepy behavior like the constant photos of Armstrong's friends ( http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=11250 ) - he would get some time out for this. Dropping docs, as it's known, is just about the worst thing you can do on a forum, so it was a question of how long the ban would be, not if he would get one. Indeed, would he be coming back at all, I pondered? I went to bed.

So I log on today to discover this message:

A 12 month banning for me? Whatever for, I thought? You mean everyone on the thread later got banned for these minor infractions, not just Race Radio for his serious infractions? That would be very harsh. But I checked the forum and not only had Dr Maserati and BroDeal not been banned for their infractions, but even Race Radio remained despite breaking the forum golden rule. And what's more, moderator Barras had taken it upon himself to delete all of my posts from the thread, thus making the discussion completely unreadable. What in the name of?

Now, I'm not a conspiratorial man by nature, but this is the second time in so many days that I have received a totally unwarranted banning after disagreeing with two posters with high post counts, Dr Maserati and Race Radio. The first time was on the grounds that a mod didn't like the look of my email address, which they overturned when I embarrassed them by pointing out the falacy of this rule. This time it appears they avoided embarrassment by not even bothering to fabricate a reason.

Please can the moderators answer why on earth I have recieved a years banning and had all my posts removed? Surely this can't be yet another mistake?

So for the rest of us who didn't catch your 'debate', do you realise how completely irrelevant what you're saying is? Go away and serve your time.

And please, don't give banned people a mouthpiece to keep posting here.

Actually not all his posts were removed, jsut the one in the target letters thread, the one where he compeltely blew up.

Anyway, I think 3 letter will suffice to make everyone here understand his banning and I think everyone can guess those three letters

Agreed. If BPC is supposed to be banned, then the mods should remove his messages that are being relayed by Flicker, and Flicker should be told to stop posting them. Either the guy is banned or he isn't.

Disagree. Once you are banned or suspended you have no way of communication. Passing a message to another forum member is one option. Flicker has just passed on the message, not got involved in the discussion in any way.

On a side note, It always amazes me that RR has managed to get this far without an infraction for something, thats nothing personal, but if the phrase "sailing close to the wind" was bandied around here he is probably one of the first names I would think of, in fact theres a few forum members that Im amazed have not served even a 24 hour suspension. When i think of some of the things that members have been suspended for its astounding.

Since you yourself have responded, I will also say that yes, RR has received infractions and plenty of informal warnings. However in, as far as I know, every instance you took such a warning in stride and responded well to these methods. In all reality, concerning that, listening to moderators, you are probably a model forum member.

When I changed from Eva Maria I posted this change on the forum and notified the Mods. Since I have made one post by accident when posting on an old computer that was logged under that username.

We received a warning about modifying the contents of peoples posts, but we are still allowed to delete them as many would rather not see those they have on Ignore.

Please show me a recent ***, insult post. A few months back there were new rules applied to the forum and unlike the returning troll BPC I have followed those rules.

I have some quick questions for Race Radio.

1. Did you receive an infraction for the offtopic pictures in the thread where Bilirubin was banned?

2. Did you receive a warning for trying to out a poster by posting their name and their business address in the thread? The fact it was not their home address doesn't make it much better. The mods removed it so they obviously considered it to be wrong. That was in the same thread as the previous infraction so why did you not get a banning?

3. More generally, why do you not get banned for repeatedly asserting that people you disagree with are paid? That is a classic smear and blatant baiting, that you repeat often, yet the mods don't ban you.

4. Why don't you receive a banning for posting information without sources? Thehog has got a banning for this in the past, but you are allowed to. Do you think anyone on the pro-Armstrong side could get away with that for a milisecond?

cant say i normally get involved in threads like this, ive been lurking for quite a while and tend to read most posts and id have to agree the rr is [insult removed by mod].. just my 2 cents

It is clear you are only trying to stir up conflict. I retired the Eve Marie username 14 months ago. I even started a thread to explain why. In the last 14 months there is one post using that username. You are going to have to do better then that to prove your grand conspiracy.

BPC has invented many things about me, my wife, other posters over the year. His goal is to bait me into responding. When I do not he only increases the accusations and often follows up with multiple PM's filled with conspiracy theories. It appears you are now his vehicle for this baiting. Please show me where I tried "to out a poster by posting their name and their business address in the thread". Yet another of his many inventions.

While I do not follow his tantrums closely I think he has had a few weeks on the bench.

If you comb through my posts you will have a hard time finding an example of a direct insult to another poster who is NOT BPC.

I do find it funny that people are calling for me to be banned.....but cannot give an example of why I should be.

Oh, im not calling for you to be banned. Not at all. Just saying their are plenty of members who could have had short bands if the mods enforced the letter of the law. Thankfully most of the time, common sense prevails.

I am going to close this thread for two reasons.

Firstly, because it is established that Bilirubin has been banned for a long period and posting messages from him allows him to dodge this. (I think we will have to put up a general warning about this so people know that posting messages from Bilirubin can get them in trouble.)

Secondly, because I have a really difficult time trying to understand what the posting style of RaceRadio has to do with a message from Bilirubin. (Other than the face that BPC always shows himself by personally attacking RR)
