5 year old Cycleops has lost all resistance (surprise!). Fluid leak of course. Contacted Saris and they're replacing the resistance unit free of charge (didn't even need to provide a receipt). Hopefully, they have the problem fixed since this is in no way uncommon. But still, good customer service IMO.

Should have got a Kurt Kinetic trainer to begin with, much better than CycleOps in terms of build quality, and supports your local (Minnesota) economy. ;)

Yep. Kinetic sounds like a much better unit. Live and learn as they say.

Have you used a Rock and Roll? They look pretty nifty. Been thinking about a trainer for this winter given my back predicament; I'm usually the weirdo riding his bike during a winter storm wearing a summer jersey/bibshort. ;)

Then again, price...yikes. Even the Road Machine is a tad bit steep. Basically, looking for something cheaper and quiet-ish.

Have many hours on the R&R. Kurt is to trainers what Kreitler is to rollers, they're just simply that good. Price is high, but you get what you pay for, quietest an smoothest on the market, excellent design and build quality. I'd rather spend a little more knowing that my trainer isn't going to poop out on me.
