It's only one win. Look at the previous winners of the race, many did not even turn pro. If you are an American, remember that the likes of Farrar and Pate were very strong in these races too but turned pro and almost vanished without a trace, Pate had a good stage in the Tour de France last summer and Farrar re-emerged this Spring. But one amateur win doesn't mean much at all, it's only the start.

Congratulations to Cole House!! While I agree that it is only one win and that it means nothing in the grand scheme...I am very excited for an American to show well in a "hard man" race!! Cole does have a long way to go, but he has showed that he has the ability in these races. Hopefully his management bring him on slowly and let him mature into a very good professional.

He has been a very good rider since he started (mountain biking.) Very talented. He can be world class if he chooses to be that way.
