How Many Riders will drop out of the Giro after Stage 12?

I can write 10-15, but the reality is that some of them will take the start already thinking about quitting. I don't know why they do that. Or maybe they just believe that they can make it through the mountains until they realize the real truth.

It's about being polite if anything.

Turning up to a dinner party and not even showing any interest in a dish which doesn't appeal would be rather rude. Far better to make a cursory effort.

Plenty will ride Friday just so they can miss the time limit, or get off half way up the first climb, rather than more directly insult the race with a DNS.
