Formolo briefly tried with a teammate, but it all seems to have calmed down. Vervaeke, Ganna, Leknessund and some others made it across to the break.

Hold, on... Pidcock is racing here today, and then he's racing the Gravel World Championship tomorrow?
Nothing like a nice little Monument to warm you up, huh?

Zero bike handling ability from Kuss.

UAE was stupid with this break. Too big and a lot of good riders. Good for the race though, would be great to see them gaining 4 minutes in 100 km.

RedBull helping UAE in the hope that a smaller gap to the break leads to an easier pace on the climbs? Meh.

They shouldn't even slot in behind Novak. Let the entire UAE team form a train in front of the peloton.

Last year's break was stronger imo and they controlled it with ease.

I wonder would this be a better route/have more contenders if they did it in reverse? Front load the hard climbs, and then do the hard side of the Ghisallo 40km from the finish?

But those who think Pogacar's dominance is killing the sport should also realise the sport is global these days. Thanks to the internet fans on the other side of the world can also enjoy big races live without sitting behind a screen for 5 or 6 hours.
I really don't think Pogacar is that big a draw outside Europe, I doubt most non cycling fans in general have never heard of him, compared to Lanca Armstrong.
