images missized, leads to blurriness

On my browser (ff3.5.1) the images are rendered as a size larger than the original image. It seems that most of the images in the gallery are 600 px wide, and when viewing them they render as 800ish, which leads to some fuzziness. I guess here would be a good place to request higher resolution pictures, but failing that could we at least get them to be sized reasonably so I'm not always right clicking -> view image. Thanks.
