This is good......good for cycling. Small team, small budget, ethical and honest.

you must be unaware of BMC's budget.
OFC you could be sarcastic with the ethical and honest comment

Sastre?

Sastre had it given to him and has done nothing since but get dropped and whine.

I would put Cadel at the top because he has probably the cleanest of any recent winners.

He won it with minimal support, as well.

this is as bad as calling a rider a doper when really you are just basing this on an assumption. Let us keep the clinic out of it.

very good victory tho.

Dumbest post ever.

Your first insult towards Sastre (who was awesome in the 2 gts he did after the Tour) shows just how unqualified you are to make utter the crap that comes in your second sentence.

You are if nothing else accusing a bunch of riders of doping, including Sastre who has nothing against him, and that belongs in the clinic. Doping accusations outside the clinic are aginst the rules and i hope you get a strike for it.l

Where does this rank for you?

Personally, above Pereiro for obvious reasons, but equally I have to put it below Sastre.

Walkowiak, Aimar, Pingeon, Pereiro, Evans

:p

I certainly think Evans has looked more impressive than Sastre did. Sastre was mostly anonymous in that Tour in the shadow of Fränk until he burst out and took yellow. Evans has looked like a champion all Tour long. It's hard to compare it to the Conta and Armstrongs wins since those wins are so questionable.

Contadors greatest win is no more questionable than Cadels.

So you're saying it's questionable that someone just put in a minute on Contador in a time trial after doing crappy in every long time trial since 2007? No way! Cuddles is totally the cleanest ever.

Its sad that a great rider like Cadel has such a shameful couple of fans here. Always willing to put down another rider just to bulldozing their own guy.

This is what makes it so tough to be trough and trough happy this day.

blecchh... i hoped i'd change my mind about evans performance. nothing against the cadel fans or aussie's, ofc. still not a fan of cadel. i tried.

but his fans have to be thrilled...i can be happy for them.:) and i'll celebrate too if richie porte wins someday.

this is only the 5th grand tour i've watched every stage: 3rd TdF...the other was 2010, vuelta and 2011 giro.

by far the least least impressive. contador and andy animated the last 2 climbs. and there were other high points but nothing like the other 4 GT's.

Given the demons Cadel is obviously faced with, his ultimate domination of this years tour is very very impressive. I actually like the fact that it required excellence across all disciplines, seems like a complete performance. Of course Contador & LA are complete as well, and perhaps showed a bit more panache, but this isn't too far away for me at all.

I think now that Cadel knows what he can do you might even see him pushing harder and figuring out how to drop everyone bar perhaps Contador and Schleck in the future.

small team and budget? they are probably the richest team in the peloton and their team isnt that bad either. Yes they arent really ethical.

For me, a Tour winner is a Tour winner (with the exception of Pereiro). I don't consider one victory that much greater than the other, and I don't take away from a champion just because A or B weren't there or C wasn't on form. That's not saying that I would rank the greatness of Cadel as a rider anywhere near the greatness of Contador, but they are both Tour winners... and both have more GT wins than either Schleck.

Let's just say that Cadel's performance was the best this year :)

However you want to rank it this was the most exciting tour in a very long time. Almost all of Indurain's and Armstrong's wins were pretty boring overall. Only way it could have been better was if TV held on to win the tour.
