Big Mig is about to be exposed.

May, 1994 Miguel Indurain failed a drug test at the Tour de l'Oise, but Verbruggen stayed silent.

It looks like lots of skeletons will be forced from their closets in the current climate.

I wonder will this have any affect on how the Spanish treat the Op Puerto case. Doubt it. They'll bury it.

I have known for at least a decade that indurain tested positive for probenecid. If the article about anther positive, that's big news.

Posted this in the Verbruggen thread, but unless there is new evidence about to come to light, it was well known at the time.

In May 1994, Indurain tested positive for salbutamol following the Tour de L'Oise in France. Though the β2-adrenergic agonist, found in nasal inhalers, was on the banned substance list of both the IOC and UCI, both organization's permitted sportsmen with asthma to use it. However in France there was an outright ban on its use.[21] The IOC agreed with the UCI that Indurain would not be punished for using a drug banned outright in France because they accepted the salbutamol was contained in a nasal inhaler he had been using legitimately to aid his respiration. In Spain, the incident was interpreted as another case of the French attempting to hinder Indurain's domination of the sport.

"From today our home page will feature the unequivocal message that McQuaid & Verbruggen are corrupt."

"Each day another example of their unsuitability to preside over our sport will be highlighted at velocast.cc"

Which today was "May, 1994 Miguel Indurain failed a drug test at the Tour de l'Oise, but Verbruggen stayed silent."

Agreed. There's been talk of him doping from back in 93-94 if I remember right & probably earlier as you mention. I swear I just read on some cycling feeed that Indurain was backing Wonderboy and the "witch hunt" arguement...lemme see if i can find it. If this is a new revelation, I've lost ALL respect for Miggy.

Edit: Found a similar link to what i was talking about, looks like someone should tell Miggy, careful what you wish for. Does this mean that Miggy should give up all 5 of his TDF titles if this is true?

(Also, check out the dopes comments on that page, hilarious)

...you can proceed to unwrap your shorts as this is old news...in fact it was widely reported in the various cycling mags at the time...and if my doctor is correct a mild pretty commonly used asthma drug...I have actually used it myself and it certainly does help dealing with acute asthma...can be used during racing season if you have a TUE....

...maybe we should focus our attention on the scandal of Bugno's 2 year suspension that kinda disappeared( this was about the same time )...and for caffeine of all things....because that incident certainly shows the dark-roasted underbelly of Italian cycling beyond a shadow of a doubt...

Cheers

Didn't Bugno get busted for EPO at some point? I have this vague recollection that his father was involved somehow. Or maybe I'm confusing him with someone else.
