Lance Armstrong (RadioShack) did not start the stage after being struck by an intestinal virus that hit the US team after the Tour of Flanders.

not surprising i guess after armstrong's shocking return to "form" only a week after flailing away at the Criterium International. Reminded me a lot of his horrible ride in the 2005 Paris-Nice that was followed by a surprisingly good ride at Flandres (after a visit with Dr. Hemo-Ferrari in Tenerife).
