cmon this crash wasn't caused by caffeine. they went too fast through a corner that happened to have rocks and a concrete ditch on the outside of it. if it didn't include the top 3 riders in the race then it wouldn't have even been a big deal. im sick of the drama that comes from fans and especially the commentators when stuff like this happens. save it for when something actually horrible happens.

I tuned in just before the crash, didn't see the climb to Oleata. Near the bottom of the descent, with 35km to go, did Soudal QS plan to attack through the twisty valley before the next climb to Untzilla? Were a lot of GC guys near the front because they were attentive to that escalation?

Please inform me of the last time all ambulances had to be used and it wasn't treated as a big deal.

Blame shifting is a coping mechanism when emotions can't handle ones own thoughts. It's human.

i dont know what that has to do with anything. the riders are all alive. it really sucks that guys got hurt, but this big rush to point blame at something is incredibly annoying.
It has to do with your third sentence:
if it didn't include the top 3 riders in the race then it wouldn't have even been a big deal.
What do you base your counter-factual statement on if not a previous incident that was just as serious, but which didn't involve any stars?

there's been plenty of crashes that have looked as bad as that one did with lesser riders that did not cause even close to the level of reaction as this one did, i'm not going to sit here and list them

Benji is about clicks and building a brand. Not sure how genuine this sentiment is, I suspect it's more about generating a debate and the subsequent engagement on the platform.
Once upon a time I thought he was genuine. Stil think he switches back and forth. I liked their pod more when they took time to analyze something and didn't react directly as they do now. Less errors in the past compared to this.

Because you can't, and you're making an imbecile of yourself. If all ambulances are in use, the race gets delayed by default because safety cannot be guaranteed. It has nothing to do with who crashed.

where did i say the race shouldn't have been delayed?

you want an example? the mur de huy stage of the 2015 tour de france. they stopped and resumed and had a full race without neutralizing the time gaps. are you happy now?

Yeah I can't say for sure if he's being genuine or not, but I've seen enough of his Twitter activity to generally pass, as he "often enough" seem to be trying to build engagement rather than providing any actual analysis or value. I like the podcast fine. Just not interested in Benji persay. For me, the other guy is the main reason the podcast works.

I like his tactical analyses and generally used to find him empathic, but Patrick has the tongue that's just brilliantly funny to listen to! No filter. My autistic ass likes it :joycat:
