gees, Basso's head has got bigger, NB. That IS neutralising for the hairline recession and male pattern baldness at the temples.

massive jaw, prominent forehead, even after all the catabolic 30k mile seasons on the road.

The Clinic 12's verdict: "Not Normal".

Jalabert drug party blamed for addiction

During the first day of hearings in the "Cahors" trial, Laurent Roux's younger brother Fabien testified that it was former professional and current French TV consultant Laurent Jalabert who first introduced him to "pot belge". "I was initiated to using pot belge during a party with Laurent Jalabert in 2001," the 24 year-old said. "Together with other professionals, I've seen him injecting himself in the garage of his house that evening. It was a party organised by his fan club. It's frequent in the cycling world. These parties take place during the off-season. I came with my brother, who was a professional. The whole team of the cyclist who was hosting participated in these parties - from mechanic to soigneur."

Roux said he thus consumed the drug mix for the first time in the presence of Jalabert. "It was offered by the rider who hosted the party," he added. Later during the trial, a former teammate of Laurent Jalabert at CSC-Tiscali, who was heard as a witness, confirmed Roux's accusations.

We know that Basso was blood doping, so I am not defending him in, but putting up a picture of his head and making inane comments prooves nothing.

The reality is that peoples faces do change as they get older, including in their twenties.

The problem is this is very unscientific. Even if you get perfect mug shots, there's not much we can discuss.

but the thing is, doctors do a physical. they do a visual once over.

sometimes, you can tell with ones eyes, what a skull x-ray would show with a comparison of age ~23ish when adult bones should have fused, v 28/29.

yeah, so 30k mile road seasons, half a dozen competitive seasons = very catabolic to non-functional tissue, and all intrafascial tissue, red muscle tuissue, and white connective tissue. even with the face riven and exposing the underlying bone-structure, bones can appear hardened and thickened. Now, this could be natural. Or it could be hormones.

the simple task to neutralise lighting/non-functional facial tissue loss/hairline change, etc, it to attempt to baseline the individual at neo age. Then compare an entire sample of athletes from 1980, to the 2010 sample of athletes.

if the 2010 athletes, as a block, have larger heads, you need to explain this.

this strategy of sampling an entire pool, takes individual outliers from sample error.

And you are never pointing the finger at individual athletes*

*yes, obvious caveat to the OP and the bone idle w@anker who was responsible for it.

but this is the Clinic, and it is good fun to be one of the hundred or so inviduals in

These ‘head’ threads are hilarious! I don’t mind seeing Basso’s head in a thread, it comes with such a cute face! :)

True, true, but you need to apply your sense of humor when reading blackcat. He trolls with ridiculous stuff, just for the fun of seeing what people respond with. All in good fun, I think. Actually, I should be careful about using the word "troll" to apply to him - what he does is usually done with good intent - to get people to think and laugh. He isn't usually mean-spirited as one would expect of a troll - but he is definitely looking for a response.

There is a point where you get into the weight vs Aero argument.. this is right on that line... Leno is defo over that line..

This thread isn't going to go anywhere, nor answer any questions.

Doping conjecture due to head size isn't constructive, so I will respectfully close this thread.

CLOSED.
