Obviously Jayco but it hasn't been announced that this team will act as a continental feeder team for GreenEDGE etc.

Eclipse is a different organisation but having Jayco on board can only make us wonder.

Jayco also sponsers the AIS and the VIS. They put HUGE amounts of money into Australian cycling. I dare say Greenedge will keep an eye on all the aussie conti teams but doubt they are the official feeder.

Is there any connection with the new Australian domestic team and GreenEDGE?

There is no real answer to that question as yet.

The Jayco-AIS U23 Continental Team would be the official feeder Team to Green Edge, this completely new Team, Elipce Pro Cycling (Jayco-2xU) for at least 2011 is not even a Continental Team. It is an Australian National Road Series (NRS) Team.

This new Jayco-2xU Team has come about through the demise of the Virgin Blue NRS Team that was a feeder Team to the Continental Team FlyV. With the failure of the Pegasus Pro Team bid, both the Virgin Blue Men’s NRS Team and Women’s team were casualties of that failed bid.

Pat Jonker who was the DS of the now defunct Virgin Blue Team put together sponsors and pulled together a competitive team in a very short amount of time to put a Team on the road in 2011. I would think that in 2012 the Jayco-2xU Team will look for Continental status and would act as a feeder to Green Edge like any Australian Continental Team will. There may be a formal link by then as when you think about it Green Edge would benefit from having an all age Continental Team developing riders who may not fit the AIS system or be too old for the AIS U23 program. So to me it makes sense that Green Edge will have a formal arrangement with another feeder team other that the Jayco-AIS U23 Team, having Jayco support for the new Team does point to that outcome.

Pat Jonker has shown to be a great DS and Coach so Jayco-2xU may in time act as a Green Edge development Team for Support Staff as well as riders, at least there will be another strong team on the domestic circuit in 2011, well done to Pat and his team.

Pegasus Version 2.0

Yes and no. Sure theres Jonker, and two riders and a fair few sponsors from Virgin Blue from what I hear it's going to be run by a whole different crowd. Good luck to them, appears to be one of the strongest Aus domestic teams on paper. Wonder if it will cause a bit of a rivalry with the existing Jayco squad?

We should give Gerry Ryan an Order of Australia medal. The guy is a champ!

Yeah. Fair play to the chap.

I guess it is just Jayco Australia that is involved? I would have expected Jayco HQ to contribute too if and when the team goes Protour level, as surely the worldwide market can only be helped by the exposure...
