:( Europcar is withdrawn from the World Tour.

"Bernaudeau was supposed to send contracts and guarantees to the UCI by October 1st but was given a three-day extension to help to complete this last-minute deal. However, the team is no longer eligible for the World Tour despite bidding for a new licence , so Europcar will remain in the Pro Continental ranks and aim for a wild card for the Tour de France, which will begin in their home province of the Vendée next year".
We will see about that, Mr. Mc Quaid likes to play ball with everybody now !!!

Add-On: Christophe Kern(29) to ride for EuropCar
Europcar heeft meteen ook een nieuwkomer verwelkomt. De Frenchman Christophe Kern, didn't get a renewal with Cofidis, and now says on his own Website that he signed with Jean-René Bernabeau. [http://christophe-kern.fr/web]

What a relief. It looked really bleak for the longest time. It is disappointing that they will not be permitted apply for a full World Tour License, especially seeing as they have done more this year than Milram but even so, at least a significant number international invitation should be received. As the great animators of so many races, and winners of a few specials too, JPB's teams have been the chief reasons for tuning in before the last 20 km so many times.

Budget for EuropCar 2011

'AMEN' :)

2011 budget of 5-6 million € for Europcar

According to L'Equipe, Europcar should provide between 4 and 5 million euros to the structure of Jean Rene Bernaudeau his team. If we add the 1.2 million of the regional council of Vendée, we can estimate a budget of 5.2 to 6.2 million for the 2011 season. This season, BBox had a budget of nearly 7 million. This will be slightly lower, but compensated by the fact that we are dealing here with a car company, so what is most important for a Pro Cycling Team ... Yes, Cars, Fuel and covering the costs of Taxation and Insurance all might add up to another million a year, and no hassle to look after.

Size of the teams roster was announced between 18 and 20 riders this season growing to 25 during land eading up to next years Tour de France.
Given six transfers so far announced, the staff should not accept more new faces.
So we should find in Vendée training 2011 a substantially equivalent of private riders like Yuri Trofimov, Johann Tschopp, Steve Chainel, William Bonnet, Nicolas Vogondy and Pierrick Fedrigo.
