He doesn´t have his own thread in here, so here it is. Today, it´s nine years.

I remember him going on the attack with Carlos Sastre (his brother in law) in the Vuelta one year but sadly Sastre had to drop back to his team leader. That would have been a great duel to watch. He was a real loss.
 
What a legend, only saw him live during the tour 2000 but he left some impression although not winning a stage, I feel on a good day (only) he (and Pantani) could beat even a LA in peak shape on a mountain stage, too bad we never got that match up anymore.

Btw is it true that he died in hospital while he looked through fotos of his old victories together with his family? Dunno, tragic death, dying young and all sucks but this is definitely going in style...
