I also remain of the opinion that Roglic would likely be a multiple-time winner of this race if he'd been both able and willing to start here all three times since his last outing in 2021, and that he would be the out-and-out favourite if he was here now. It's bizarre that he probably isn't even going to add this one to his palmares before he retires.
Vuelta went through Belgium in 2022 missed opportunity to throw the Mur de Huy in.

To be more serious, he was scheduled both in 2022 and 2024 but he came out of Itzulia injured both times. And I guess they decided it was too much to add it in 2020 between the Tour, Vuelta, WC and Liege

Somewhere in another dimension Roglic is closing in on Valverde to be the King of the Mr de Huy yet incredibly he has never won it.

Last year was an awesome race with the weather totally ripping up the usual script. Will any of the favourites try to make a decisive move before the final ascent to the finish.

Mostly the sameish parcours with relatively inconsequential alterations for decades with the same mad-dash up the Mur at the end that we all know and love despite loads of people pressuring the organisers every year to make it into some hipster rubbish. This and San Remo arguably the most prestigious races on the calendar. Best 3 minutes in cycling. If anyone attacks and gets away beforehand I'll be furious.

Expect. a dropbomb on the Cipressa equivalent around Huy

Can they not find some gravel roads on the way to the Huy? Asking for a friend who works at GCN.

The play is probably to pace really hard Cerave and Huy with one lap to go so that the peleton has only 30-40 riders. Then launch Ereffe with the last domestique. The course is hard enough that you could eliminate all but 10-15 riders from being relevant in the last 10 ks. I also think that Remco and Pogi would pull if they get away together and that would be game over if there's no 3rd or 4th person destroying the chemistry.

Fleche is a pretty odd race in that the power dynamics can be totally different to what you normally would expect if you just wait until the last Mur for the uphill sprint. Skjelmose, Vauquelin, Gregoire, Onley a whole bunch of riders could have the best minutes of the season and challenge for the victory. If how races are raced this year I don't see that happening tbh.
