This is an interesting interpretation of Seixas’ yearFairly clearly the 3rd best climber right now.
But I think putting him at Pogacar's future is over the top because riders develop at such different rates.
And I he doesn't get there, he doesn't add anything to races if he loses by default to Pogacar and wins by default against everyone else and then dodges Vingegaard outside the Tour.
Nothing would have changed. Seixas is just on another level this year. What would Widar have done today considering that in these finals he was better than Seixas less than a year ago?
This. I literally can't tell what I am seeing with Seixas. I simply cannot judge at all just how good he is going to be for the rest of this year in races where he comes up against Pog, Vingegaard, Remco etc. I just don't feel confident trying to guess where his limits might be - he's just been so good so far!!obviously some people will always over do it but what do you think is an appropriate level of hype rn? I have him at 50%+ for TDF podium if 2024 Remco doesn’t return. Also think he has level for LBL, Worlds and Lombardia podiums but season is long and I wouldn’t be shocked if the end of the year is too much for him
Seixas with the new KOM on the official Strava Mur segment. 3:04 with 200-300m extra leadout in it. Same time as Woods in 2020. (Pogi hasn’t uploaded his wins I guess).
Anyone with the real Mur timing? Wasn’t it something like 2:40 for the fastest?
I had a meeting with a student that I was frantically trying to wrap up so I could watch the uphill sprinting world championships. I even glanced towards the screen to try to give him the hint.
This is better than Valverde and Alaphilippe's performance because they just sprinted.
Steady pacing is more important than "drafting" on a 16,% climbThis is better than Valverde and Alaphilippe's performance because they just sprinted.
Seixas did the entire climb ahead.
Yes, but Valverde and Alaphilippe didn't usually make any effort until the final sprint.Steady pacing is more important than "drafting" on a 16,% climb
Gilbert let up a bit near the line he was so comfortably in front that year. This is better than Valverde and Alaphilippe's performance because they just sprinted.
Seixas did the entire climb ahead.
Which isn‘t good for setting a good timeYes, but Valverde and Alaphilippe didn't usually make any effort until the final sprint.
Besides, it seemed like Seixas could have done it faster.
But only one second faster than Rebellin 20!yrs ago. This is better than Valverde and Alaphilippe's performance because they just sprinted.
Seixas did the entire climb ahead.
He basically did what Roglic did in 2021 only slower and did not have monsters like Ala and Valv in the race. This is better than Valverde and Alaphilippe's performance because they just sprinted.
Seixas did the entire climb ahead.
True, but I was talking about performance, and Seixas's seemed more impressive to me because his energy expenditure on the climb was higher.Which isn‘t good for setting a good time
Coulda would shoulda... Or are you going to say Ben tullet is better than piti, pogacar, and most of this honor roll?Yes, but Valverde and Alaphilippe didn't usually make any effort until the final sprint.
Besides, it seemed like Seixas could have done it faster.
In fact ment as a pun, but just watched the final and much longer drag race than I would've expected with young man against the rest.It was more like a long drag, seriously little sprinting going on.
