Last week or so in cycling

This last week and 2 days or so I have been totally disconnected from most news from the outside world and certainly all cycling news. As far as I know, aliens have invaded though probably not.

So I just ask fellow forumites a question or two.

First of all I have not seen Classica San Sebastian, and would rather not know the result.

Are there any San Sebastian replays (prefferably not in dutch) around where i could watch it?

Secondly what has happened in the Cycling Universe in the last week or so (other than SS).

Any major news?

I already see from luckys transfer thread that Quickstep is becoming very much a Polish- Belgian project. Great to see.

Thanks.

HTC mens team is no more

HTC women ????

Less silly Cadel threads

Appart from that same old guess work on who is going where and which rider is better or would have won if and but discussions.

The biggest thing really is we have no idea with contracts especially re OPQ - Gilbert and if Cav will end up -,sky but now a greenedge idea ???

Greenedge (the poster, not the team) claimed that Mick Rogers could be considered a better GC man than Levi Leipheimer.

The Vuelta talked about going to the Canary Islands in 2012 or 13.

Bob Stapleton whined about big corporate teams with lots of money getting all the wins, and his being squeezed out because of it. I laughed heartily and posted a video of Kool and the Gang's "Celebration".

Tune in for Vuelta a Burgos last stage tomorrow at Lagunas de Neila to watch Purito and Sammy fighting to death for GC. It will also be Iñigo Cuesta's farewell race.

more importantly

where have you been for the past week or so? i was starting to think that you were washed away by the end of july :p

Thanks for the concern;).

I took a job as a english teacher for kids on holiday camp in Poland. It required me going deep into the forest and living there for a week. No internet, no tv. It was good to be without technology for a while, I dont believe it has neccesarily made life more fun, but i just wish it hadn't happened during the TDP.

Then again, it could have been worse. It could have happened during the Giro.

I am disappointed though to see that my post per day count has only gone down to something like 18.90 It was almost in the 16s before the Tour. I think i went 300 posts a day on some of those stages.

At this rate im going to be in around 22.50 by the end of the Vuelta. And thats being optimist that I miss some stages on account of me being at the race.

Thomas Dekker returned to the professional peloton. A certain poster keeps track of his progression, and was eager to inform us that he didn't get dropped on the first speedbump. A feat in itself, since TD is fat.

You should really stop harassing Dekker_Tifosi it's becoming a bit sad :)

p.s. Hitch did you allready see San Sebastian?

http://www.youtube.com/user/CanalF10#p/u/25/DQbwHeJDgT4 <- San Sebastian. Don't know which language the commentary is, because I don't have sound here.
