So is there actual reason to think AD took a tow yesterday, or is it just a meme that people enjoy piling onto (because AD is so bland that there aren't any feelings attached to him otherwise)?

There are multiple Belgian journalists who followed him all day and they all confirm he did not do anything wrong
Actually, what they also said was that the DS was actively asking the supporters on the side of the road to give him a little push. Five hundred little pushes can make the difference between making the time cut or not. Not yesterday, but definitely in the Alps.

Am I the only one who thinks that it's kinda unlikely demare wouldn't be seen one single time hanging onto his teamcar despite doing it all the time? I mean it's not like the thousands of roadside fans all of a sudden disappear after after the favorites passed

More than one rider saw it in the alps...they just refused to mention any names.

No, you’re not, especially considering the previous accusations. You’d think people would be trying to catch even a sticky bottle on photo to make out it was a tow.

French fans doing their best to expose one of their favorite riders...not very likely. Other riders aren`t mentioning names even if someone is blatantly cheating...something like a code of honor.
It´s up to the ASO/UCI and I think both are happy that a french sprinter is still in the race and winning stages.

I can assure you that it's not just French fans along the road!

Maybe I was imagining it but I’m sure I saw plenty of non-French flags on the mountains. I’m sure loads of non-French people I know were going to France to watch it live too. I’m also sure there are photographers and press from pretty much every nation that follows cycling in the world.

Or maybe it’s just French people.

It’s definitely a cultural French thing. Dave told me so.

Not a deserved winner, but it is what it is I suppose. Cycling is a joke through and true.

Well if it’s that much of a joke then just don’t watch it.

I'll still watch it, at least until Hulk Hogan body-slams someone in the 'battle royale' stage ASO will probably plan for next year. :p

Demare is rapidly becoming one of my favourite riders mostly thanks to the relentless forum whining

Je suis d'accord. It's kind of silly, really. I'm pretty certain that if he was doing anything egregious he'd have been flagged. After all he was a one-man broomwagon so he should have had a commissaire on his shoulder the whole time.

He's a good sprinter, not A level every day but certainly a threat.
