But even in the second picture Netserk posted van Gils is already gaining on Christen and they still have half the road left to them. And still Christen closes down further and further until there is no road left to van Gils.

As a professional rider doing sprints even in small groups you need to have some feeling about what is going on around you.
He has more than some feeling. These are not Cat 4 racers and Christen did not just start racing his bike 3 months ago. That last swerve to his left is what tapped van Gils off line and touching the barriers. That was an overshot and either fully intentional or the kind of dangerous sloppy racing that some people just don't feel a 'need' to correct until they are given a need by someone else. If you want to see dangerous sloppy sh*t get corrected quickly, hit the team more than the racer themselves.

The racing will still be exciting and will still be inherently dangerous. Just not for stupid reasons.

This is so funny man apparently cristen swerving across the whole road into another rider is ok,but de lie getting shoulder barged by askey and moschetti whilst riding in a straight line is worthy of a DQ. When will uae's bad luck end ? Only 3 riders in top 10 today instead of 4 thanks to the inept UCI

Christen's move secured two UAE riders on the podium. What a heroic sacrifice.

True. But if riders such as Christen just keep on racing like a$$hats, then I think the next stage is to DQ the team when members of the team act in an overly aggressive and egregious manner. DQ'ing Christen is a bit of a nothing burger in this instance. DQ'ing the whole team would have been a huge slap. And I think it is getting to that point with strong teams if they have riders who are so inconsiderate that they repeatedly keep on causing issues.
OK, at this point You're saying some things because you don't like UAE.

When has an entire team ever been disqualified for a crash?

Were Bahrain disqualified when one of their riders injured Wellens and 10 other riders in Flanders 2023?
That was the most serious accident in recent years caused by recklessness, and no collective sanction was sought. What fault do the teammates have for an individual's imprudence?

It's curious how the perspective changes depending on the rider/team, because when Pogacar had the accident because a UnoX rider for changing his trajectory, not only he wasn't disqualified, but the rider who had the accident was blamed.
And there were even comments that it would be good for the race.

Let's get some perspective.
They would be disqualifying teams in all sprint stages.

I am in favor of disqualifying the sprinters in sprint stages if the leadout blocks other riders. Its a team sport and thats why its fine to punish riders of the same team who did nothing wrong.

Because it was Pogacar's mistake... Pack moves to the right, and he keeps going straight

uci officially rules murcia gc cancelled as only 1 stage took place.

At least that is one less win for UAE national team. No doubt they'll appeal if they get stuck on only 99 wins at the end of the season.
