It's a disgrace that Paternoster did not ride a GT in 2024. I understand, she had track commitments, but a GT could easily have been programmed from early in the year.
Maybe next year she can do a GT again. No Olympics to aim for. Think she made a big step in the classics this year, only just 25y/o. Her best years are coming and hopefully she can take another step with a GT in the legs. Really hope she'll ride the Giro and/or Tour.

Also thought she could be selected for this WC, but it's maybe too hard. I'm only seeing the Simac Ladies Tour as an option to end this year. Or her road season could be done.

She should be going to Chongming Island.

Letizia is doing the Simac Ladies Tour in the Netherlands. Was hoping on a stage in Belgium like last year in Leuven but nothing this year. Gonna search the closest starting/finish town and if it’s possible to go by bike.

Also deciding after the Simac if she’s doing the WC track.

Lund wins the T2 race by soloing away from Van Till
Van Soest wins the T1 race by the rather interesting tactic of just sticking with Lund and Van Till (until Lund went solo, that is.)
Lund tried to do the "Lift the bike" celebration across the line, but then realised that it's a tricycle, and quite heavy.

I have no idea what categories the other riders coming in belongs to.
Might be some men among them as well. They had four races out on the route at the same time; very confusing.

I would be staggered if Liv Alula does not ride at Chongming Island. It was a target race in 2023 when they went for Baker.

2018 world junior champion Laura Stigger, who only ever competed in as many international races on the road as fingers on a hand, continued her successful mountain bike career yesterday by winning the world cup race in Lake Placid.

at this rate the 'Cat Ferguson is the new Tadej Pogacar thread' thread will be up sooner rather than later.

The new Pigacat, perhaps.

However I doubt she would have won today, if Kool had been able to sprint. Koch had put her in a perfect position.

But if Christina Schweinberger finishes 2nd against better sprinters it must have been a hard race. Unlike her twin sister she isn't a great sprinter.

Let's bring this back on track, shall we?

It's not just the guys doing Giro dell'Emilia today, the women will also be tackling the San Luca climb.
Shorter version than the men, because apparently women can handle distances of over 200 Ks...

Do the gravel worlds count as a lesser race ?

Not sure, just surprised to see the likes of Wiebes & Kopecky taking part. Some of the others like Vos, Puck & Cromwell I get because they've ridden off road for a while. Kasia isn't defending her title though.

Even Shirin is on the start list though I thought her season was over.

Just in case you're wondering where everyone is racing instead of in Italy

I think the riders are happy about not having to ride 200 km though, but if they included as many laps on the finishing circuit as they have in the men's race, it would still be under 150 km. That said, it is at least the longest it's ever been.

We have a lovely Fassa Bortolo duo attack. I hope they'll make it, but I don't expect them to survive for that long.

I've just come home after a two hour walk, so I hadn't yet realised the race won't be broadcast. Pathetic stuff.

It sounds like the duo is already about to get caught on the first time up San Luca.
Kerbaol has apparently bridged across now, ready to completely destroy the descent, I assume.
