Levi Wins Tour de Suisse???

Beetroot juice gives you strength of ten tigers. Old jungle sayings.

OT: the beetroot juice story is a obviously decoy for the additional blood nearly coming out of their ears, working it's way into the blood stream by shear internal overpressure.

I can't bear watching cycling itself anymore, not even the result sheets. I hope operation Honey Badger will soon unfold a few new chapters to amend my sympathies for the sport.

White lunch bags, yes.
In addition, Bruyneel still has the UCI in his pocket.
The number of times Radioshack riders are being tested is therefore irrelevant.

He's been on the podium of a GT three times and won several non GT stage races.

That's true, and that's why we can never be sure.

But I keep looking at all of these little pieces, and it seems that they may add up to something bigger:

a) In the final 41 minute (by Fabian) time trial, three Radio Shack riders were 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, all within 25 seconds of Fabian.

b) At hardest climbing stage in the Tour of California, Horner and Leipheimer rode away from a field containing some of the best riders. They crossed the finish line together, and VeloNews' online report noted that Leipheimer was scarcely even breathing hard.

c) I don't have the encyclopedic memory that other posters have, but if I recall correctly, Levi's GT podium finishes and non-GT podium finishes all came on teams that had or still have doping scandals.

d) Most of the riders on Radio Shack were ranked highly on the UCI's "suspicious" list, except (curiously to me) Horner.

I'm sure others will have other pieces. None of them are dam*ing of themselves, but taken together it becomes harder and harder to defend Levi, Horner, or Radio Shack.

Today had the slow grim inevitability of watching a car crash. You could see from about thursday onwards that this was how the rest of the week was going to unfold.

Levi would suck wheels all week and then we would get a Cack special today.

Naturally Fabian won, which was no surprise. But 2nd, 3rd, and 4th went to Radio Shack riders... Is it just me, or does anybody else think that Johan is handing out those white lunch bags again?

tour de suisse, probably McQuaid delivering the white lunch bags in person while collecting brown envelopes

Lord knows they can't wire transfer anymore. At least the race is close to their bank accounts for the time being.

Good to see our new clean generation is being crunched by one of the most filthy dopers from the last generation. Hallelujah!!

Prima facie, LL won it fair and square; he was expected to do it by Cunego himself with that margin.

Hurts me to say it because, god knows, I really despise the little b'stard's racing style. Levi Leipheimer is an anti-cyclist.

Let's just hope he did the right thing in the big case of the moment. Hate it when liars win.

Indeed! Maybe it will get better. Apparently, we're hardwired to be optimistic...

The trick is to find some beauty amid the ugliness. Or maybe just a little perspective. There are worse things happening in the world.

I'm becoming a cliche factory.

I take solace in stage 3. Brilliant attack, great descending, great effort from Cunego, Sagan and Soler, made for one of the most interesting days racing of the year.

Gutted for Cunego who was active and animated the race all week.

Glass half full etc

Charade is the only way to describe this. Levi is a rider so pathetic that he had to dope as an amateur. His own team manager wanted to keep him out of the Tour de France because his blood levels were so out of whack that the UCI did not want him to participate. His off score indicated blood manipulation by the ski racing standards, but cycling has set the level high enough that even the most blatant dopers will be under the limit.

Where is the bio passport in this travesty? Near forty year olds beating riders a dozen years younger is a greater mockery than anything Ricco or Schumacher ever did.

It is as though Levi and friends know that everything will come out at the end of the federal investigation so they have decided pile all the coal available into the Dope Train Express and ride that sucker at full speed to the end of the line.
