Leipheimer as co-captain next to Contador? Oh please... That must have been in his own mind and nowhere else.

Levi was the leader at 2007 and Contador a younger superhelper (like Froome at Vuelta).

Put it this was, Contador was absolutely not the leader going into the Tour 2007.

Bruyneel had given Contador somewhat of a free role to see what he could do based on the potential that he saw and he quickly showed that he was the rider that the team would be riding for.

Im worried for cancellara. His team for the cobbled classics is terrible!

Thats the thing I really dont understand. WHY would he stay with them? why would he want to play ball in a team that is all for the Tour when he could demand a team built just for him.

Why oh Why didnt he stay with Saxo. Even with Contador in the team he would be better off than he is now.

3rd. Contador doesnt speak fabianese

In last years cobbled classics o'grady was never seen
& anyway considering how old o grady is I would say that roulstoun (top ten 2010), rast (top ten last year) and popovych under 23 roubaix winner all have the ability to do a better job for cancellara than o grady could have.

Well actually O´grady was the last one who left hes side in PR 2011, and lets see how motivated popo will be in the early cobble classics, in my honest opinion he will just be another disapointment, but we will see.

It's my impression based on his statements leading up to last year's cobbled classics, that he thought that he would simply ride everyone off of his wheel.
He didn't take into account the quality of his support compared to 2010 nor did he consider that his prior dominance and bold talk just prior to his focused events would result in his primary opponents basicly shadowing his every move.

Plus he seems to have established a strong bond with the Schlecks and maybe wanted to be a part of the team that helped Andy win the Tour (Oh well!:p) and likely felt staying with Saxo would be too much like joining up with the enemy (Contador), that is if he (Cancellara) is of the same mindset as Andy and Frank-that Andy was robbed of the Tour by Contador in 2010 as a result of Chaingate.

Has there ever been a rider more stupid than Chris Horner?

I think not.

Valverde, he makes so many errors in races, especially in Grand Tours. Funnily enough, he's the one who Horner describes as smart. Just look at this year, Valverde foolishly let Gerrans pass him in the sprint costing him the GC in the end. Smart? No.

I hope Contador teaches him a lesson, we'll see who has the best tactic then.

For all of Horner's great tactics what has he won? Pais Vasco once and all the rest isn't worth a dime.

But is he really wrong? I've yet to see Contador win races by sheer tactics, most of the time he just rides everyone off his wheel.

How... random?

Stijn Devolder has stupid training methods and doesn't listen to advice. As for racing tactics, let's just say Nuyens owes Devolder a great deal. He's not exactly the smartest tactitian in the peloton, but besides his training program I wouldn't call him dumb, just not smart either.

What do you call tactics? Sucking wheel and then outsprinting them to the finishline like our great tactition Valverde?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sVT-2jKgaM

Funnily enough Wuyts asks him self if Valverde is dumb in the vid :p (I wouldn't call him dumb though, but in the past he has ridden GTs the wrong way)

How... random?

Devolder - positioning in so called target races leaves a lot to be desired.
Barredo - somehow always manages to attack at exactly the wrong time.

I never really payed attention to Horner before his terrible crash in last years tour where he suffered severe trauma to the head. I guess we all saw the footage where they put him back on his bike even though he was clearly disorientated in time and space.
I wonder if this kind of verbal attack is typical for Chris Horner - was he like this before the accident too? Sometimes a minor brain damage can alter the personality quite a bit, often to the more rude.

Nothing stupid about it. He's just saying Contador has the talent to afford mistakes as where some riders have results base not only on talent, but being better tatically as well.

He'd made a fool of himself plenty more times before that, most famously at the Tour '09 when he was self-appointed No. 1 Lance fan/No. 1 Alberto hater simultaneously

My link was just a quote from the interview in CSM. No arguments whatsoever for his postulates about Berto being a poor tactician. Could someone, with the latest issue, point out his arguments towards this statement - if any..?

I didn't find any arguments either, as much as I looked for them.

papy horner is right though.contador attacks a lot,he rides more with the heart than with the mind.of course it's not smart to go on telegraphe 90 km to the finish for fucc sake can you imagine valverde doing that?valverde is like rebellin,a supreme tactician who sucks the life out of his team before sprinting.he's a champion too but i gotta go with alberto.
and no,papy horner doesn't harm anyone saying this,i kind of respect it and like because tour de france needs drama,it needs rivalry of class and all of that.if i ever see two guys hugging and kissing and saying sorry on youtube,i won't like it.
