Impressive how he didn't give up and kept on fighting for a Top 10 placement in the Tour de Suisse after a hard Giro d'Italia.

Would have been interesting to see him in the stage to Malbun without the crash that caused him to start the final climb 40s (or more?) behind the GC favourites group.

I like his approach to keep on fighting (Malbun, ITT) and attacking (Crans-Montana, Serfaus) thereby also risking to blow up.

You did good this week. Real good. Don't know whether I included him in my 'BMc good riders' list... But if I didn't he's on it now.

no you didnt but he certainly deserves it now:)

A rider of BMC I like so far, let's hope some BMC fans don't screw this up now :p

Again I ask, what about Kroon and i thought you were comingaround to like cadel?

I think he might be having a rest know and possibly riding the Tour of Austria. If he takes some good form to that race he could win the overall.

I never liked Kroon... I was always indifferent to him.

yeh Kroon is a meh rider.

Frank is a decent rider. Not sure what I see his future being. Maybe continuing to do some good results in short stage races?

For some reason I'm not sure if e suits a domestique role.

It is a real shame that he didn't get a real crack on the stage to Malbun as he had a chance to get his biggest win of his career. A big win will only be around the corner for Frank. His finish to his tt was quite amusing though he got a big cheer from the suisse crowd which was good.

Stupidly he go a 10 second time penalty a few stages ago because he changed his bike due to a mechanical in the first 3km of the stage.

The way he rode back after having a fall was incredible. Salut.

I knew he was a good climber, but he exceeded my expectations on the climbs the past week.

The TT was something else though.

Bravo.

However I do wonder whether riding the Giro before was an important reason for this result.

Well said. Let's hope to see more of this from the ACF version of BAMF!

We would have seen more of Frank last year - remember the guy in red and black that smashed himself up in the tour DNF and out after 1.8kms or something - I give you Mathias Frank.

Ruptured Quads and some fractures I think - he is hard

His next goal is to win the Siwss national championships. Dos anyone know if Cancellara is riding the tt championship? He hasn't for the past two years.

Supposedly on a straight road his rear world slid which sent him into the barriers resulting in a broken thumb, cut lip, swollen knee and some really bad bruising.

IIRC they haven't found the replacement venue for Sierre yet so it's premature to talk about a start list.

From what I've read they are doing a 52km time trial around Sierre on Wednesday. With mathias' strong form and Cancellara not likely to be there, Frank has agood chance to win.

EDIT: You are right. The road race is taking place but no time trial at this point. It is shocking that a country like Switzerland can not find the money to fund their championships.

Website is through the link.

Believe it or not there are municipalities in Switzerland that have budget issues.

Anyway, the course in Kirchdorf is probably more suited to Albasini or Elmiger but BMC have numbers so Frank might well stand a chance.

According to the information on swisscycling.ch the ITT championship takes place, however Cance will not participate. Better known contenders:

14:42:00 154 Kohler Martin BMC Racing Team
14:45:00 156 Schär Michael BMC Racing Team
14:49:00 158 Wyss Marcel Geox - TMC
14:51:00 159 Frank Mathias BMC Racing Team
14:53:00 160 Bertogliati Rubens Team Type 1

So I'd say if Frank can conserve his form he should get it...
