Could still get some fine results from the race if he can recover as with the team around him there is nobody for him to have to fold in behind to work for.

He has worked his way up to 9th place GC in the tour de Suisse after 5 stages.
He seems to do well in uphill TTs. I will be curious to see how he finishes this race.

Presumably he will be stronger in the TT compared to the road stages. Fourth strongest behind Almeida, Onley and Gall maybe. But he's been quite disappointing this season in my opinion. So far it's a step back from his Suisse level of last year. But maybe he's going all in for the Vuelta.

Riccitello wins today on stage 2 of the Sibiu.

So now he has as many professional wins as Riley Sheehan.

And one win more than arch rival Cian Uijtdebroeks

It looks almost certain he will finish in 5th place at the Vuelta.

I don't think he has contract for next year.
