BMW spam bot is back

Think i caught it early and reported one - more and more posts seem to be being made.

Appreciated and actioned. Please keep the reports coming. I did a bit of a clean up of previously deleted spam threads whilst I was at it...

Have you mods considered putting a limit as to how many threads you can start per day? If the limit was two or three it would mean that the forum was still readable for those using the "new posts" button when navigating and using the forum...

Edit: don't know if it is technically possible though?
And wouldn't stop the spammer of creating a new account and continue..

What about first post mod approval? That is pretty common on other foras I believe?

I don't believe any of those suggestions are within the current functions available to the Mods. The current spam thing though is being taken seriously so we may see..

Maybe one of the more tech minded Mods (OK I really mean younger Mods;) could add to this though..

That was exhausting, I'm at work and just deleted a sh!tload of spam. just report it guys, and me the others will get to it as soon as possible.

I'll bring up the spam issue with Dan again as well.

Sorry ChrisE, but when someone signs up to be a mod they have to sign an agreement to ruin all fun and potential fun. :eek:

I really think you should consider the "first post" approval suggestion..

Shouldn't be too hard to code in the systems..

Ever thought about not allowing new members to post without pre-moderation, I am sure you could set the software up to do this
