Most aggressive in prologue TT?

Semi-serious question. Just how does one earn "most aggressive" in the prologue time trial? Pate won this honor, yet finished 11th! Did he make the most aggressive face or something? Perhaps a little hometown favoritism? I would assume they would do this competition after the first road stage and simply not award it after the prologue tt. If awarded, shouldn't the stage winner get it since he was, in fact, the most aggressive on the course? Just wondering...

A little bit of chauvinism + the commentators on the shack stream said that he received it cause he isnt a really good TTr but performed way above his level. Or something in that direction :).

The USA races have always given out pity prizes, TdC had some for riders who should of done something and didn't but since they showed up, they got a prize! Something like when those soccer kids got trophies for showing up to be on the sidelines. Guess the trend continues at this race.

Yeah, I think they're just giving some attention to the hometown boy to please the fans. But I like your suggestion about the most aggressive face much better.

Perhaps he swore at somebody or shook his fists or something.
Pate has been doing some reasonable ITT's recently, nothing spectacular but quite usefull so it not like he's useless at them.. So yes kind of an odd award.
