Sunday's Paris-Roubaix was the most "popular" CN Race Thread EVER with over 2000 posts and counting in the thread. Just FYI. CN, the place to discuss race day for sure. Anyway, here are the other race threads that have topped 1000 posts in the CN forum...

Can anyone name all 14 winners without looking them up?

Wow only a few more posts and P-R will overtake the General News Thread. Of course General News will catch up again in time.

This year's three monuments are in the Top 5, I think this is a sign that we will see a general increase in race threads in the future. At the same time they were all pretty good, so maybe a boring LBL will not gather that many posts.

Nibali? the one with scarponi and evans chasing while basso just sat on them?

Nope, the gigantic escape which meant that basso, scarponi, evans, vino and nibali and the like needed to chase themselves, winner was Petrov. Also I think the Pais Vasco thread needs to be disqualified, seeing as this was for multiple stages and was replaced this year with different threads for each stage

Well, actually half of P-R posts should say the same.

I would think:

50xBoonen puncture
80xBoonen crash
70xCancellara attack
another 75xCancellara attack
100xjust crash by ***
100xI don't know anything about cycling tactics, but anyway Thor is a sucking sucker who sucks
250xjust annoying and disgusting pistolero crap
200xDT discussing something he saw totally different

rest good posts and analysis

PS: You think it is a good idea to read that Morzine-thread ?
I can imagine it is total nightmare and like a ghost train, stuffed with disgusting and ridiculous posts, much malicious joy and satisfaction. I can imagine that party got on for some days.
Should I have a look ?

yeah i knew about the escape, just had no clue who actually won the stage... never would have thought petrov...

I always forget breakaway stage-winners... except if they are really memorable.. like Riblon, Voeckler multiple times, Boom in the Vuelta 09, etc

I think paris roubaix was high because a) it was started pretty early but also there was just one thread as opposed to a pre race discussion and a race thread.

Personally I would have preffered a pre race thread, and then on race day a race thread. It got a bit much to dig through.

The irony is that even though half the race threads were started by yours truly, Paris roubaix has been the race thread i have participated in least out of all the big race threads since i joined.

I was barely there, and announced that before hand. Its possible that was the reason for the threads popularity.

RVV thread was started around the same number of days before the the race as the PR thread.

I'm honoured to make the top 10 (only one of two threads ive made) :p
My creativity in the thread is unquestionable.

I assume these records will continue to be broken.

PR may stand tall untill the tour tho. I say we aim for an epic giro thread tho.

Oh well, we're still nowhere near as clueless as most tv-commentators are, except the Sporza guys, they know their ****.

I'm not exactly proud of what I said on the P-R thread,.. Seemed to get everything wrong but there you go -probably why I'm not a race director or DS.> I still think Thor was too passive but I've probably missed the point on that one.

If I knew what the Sporza commentators were on about it would be good but they cant be worse than Ligget or Carlton Kirby. Harmon was mixing Hayman and Stannard up but he didn't do that bad a job for Eurosport.
