Motor Assist

Is there a place for bikes with motor assist? It could make the commute a little easier, or make it easier for you and your significant other to ride the same speed? Not a full on ebike, just a regular bike with a 200 watt assist that could be used on demand, that doesn't weigh too much, and requires nearly no maintenance.

Yes - many older cyclists suffer from various ailments and need some kind of assist. The ones I know were former cyclists but draw the line at buying a 45-pound electric bike costing several thousand dollars.

'm not sure the type of motor that was found recently in a CX bike by a UCI official has sufficient range for most of these senior cyclists.
