Anyone can look up Dr. Chao. There's a reason why he was dismissed by the Chargers, and no other NFL team would hire him (no, he's not the guy that punctured the player's lung with an injection. That was the quack that replaced him). Suffice to say Chao has his baggage. Sometimes he's on, sometimes not, he likes to speculate with a level of authority, which to me is a turn off, apparently Sutterer too.

Raiders don't have the players the Commanders did. They are much closer to where the Titans are. Maybe they could get a bit lucky and finish about 6-11. That would be the ceiling is my guess. I won't be shocked with a new HC, new QB, new staff, many new players, the Raiders finish 2-13 next year.

There were rumors the Raiders were interested in hiring Brian Draboll as HC. Glad that didn't prove true. Still think the Raiders will either go Kubiak, or possible Webb, and if they hire Webb, maybe Kingsbury as OC.

Belichick must have really ticked some people off. I can't imagine how with his engaging and charming personality.

It seems that quite a few teams are after Kingsbury. I think Saleh wanted him as well but they settled on Daboll at the Titans. Wonder how Brady will do at the Bills as HC ?. Some talk of McVay being under pressure at the Rams which is hard to believe. He's been to two SB's in 9 years and won one. Being in the NFC West with two other playoff teams means, at the moment there is no easy path to the SB. And if the Cards and 49ers rebuild as well as the Hawks it's only going to get tougher. Not sure if the Rams are going to lose much in FA . The 49ers lost a ton from their defense last FA but there isn't much left to lose at the moment. Their best vets are still under contract. They fixed their special teams and ended the season ranked second behind Seattle after being near the bottom the last few seasons but they have to find much more young talent on the rest of the team. Probably Shanahan's best season as a coach with the available players he had for the bulk of the season.

I don't think the Commanders had that great of players that season. My understanding is their OL wasn't very good - like bottom third in the league. And without looking it up, I can only name off the top of my head two of their skill players that being Zach Ertz & Bryan Robinson Jr. Who heck were their receivers? Lol.

You got Bowers who has the potential to be another Travis Kelce. Jeanty is stud RB that has great potential. Definitely fix the OL but that's not hard to do these days in a short time through the draft & trades (teams don't have to spend years anymore developing top drafted linemen -- they come locked & loaded ready to play). And like I said earlier, grab an elite receiver or two through the draft or trades.

The main thing is you're getting Mendoza. I think he's one of the best #1 OAs that we've seen in a long time. Elite accuracy/ high-level passing skills, mobility with the ability to scramble & run, high football IQ, outstanding leadership skills, etc. Remember Bleacher says his pro comparison is "Matt Ryan with mobility."

Let the kid run his college offensive scheme (RPO-heavy spread) & maybe you'll get another Daniels type rookie season.

Belichick won, unapologetically. His cheating tactics were also explored by virtually every other team and avoided, not because they were unsporting but because they didn't work well enough to risk getting caught.
The deep-seated grudges carried by some sports fans will be shown to be the cause of the 11+ nay votes.
I never found his personality engaging or more than moderately humorous but he's God in NE.

Jeff Saturday posed the most obvious consequences of this ridiculous situation: "who wants to be the inductee after Belichick is passed by?" (parphrased). He acknowledged that he played for several former coaches that attempted the same tactics as Bill.

Let's be honest though. A lot of people were jealous about his winning, grew tired of his winning, got sick of seeing him win. And no, it wasn't because of the Tuck Rule (blame the referee there), Spygate, or Deflategate - speaking of, there's a perfect example right there. Some of Tom Brady's footballs were slightly underflated. What happened after those balls were thrown out? He kept winning. Think about this for a moment. It wasn't a big advantage, at all, period. By the rules it should have been an equipment tampering penalty, and fine at most. But the league, as well as sportswriters, were so sick of the Patriots winning, they threw the book at them. And what did Belichick, Brady and the Pats do? They kept winning.

And Bill was never apologetic about it. Quiet, but not necessarily humble. He operated like a corporate machine, and kept on winning. At least until the end when his prize QB was gone, his coordinators all left, and the owner (wisely) wanted control over the team spread out more than in one man's hands.

Belichick didn’t help himself with spygate because he told the league to F off and go change the rules if they don’t want him to continue filming in the spot that had been legal for years.

Brady basically did the same thing and told league to F off. Like you said Alpe, everyone was tired of them winning and they continued to win after. But that whole saga was ridiculous since Colts balls we’re deflated as well then other teams has the same issue with no outcry. Literally air deflates when it gets cold. They changed the balls and Patriots scored even more.

Dr Chao was right, Maye did sustained an injury to his right throwing shoulder on the tackle by Hufanga on one of his QB runs. He was limited in practice today & I'm sure he must have had an MRI by now. Like movingtarget mentioned the good news is he has two weeks to heal up.

Here's the video by Dr Stutterer that breaks down the dynamics of the injury & some speculation on what type of injury it might be. You can see force on the arm & shoulder as his elbow impacts the ground.

This would be a completely non-issue if it wasn't his throwing shoulder.

On another funnier side and one I haven’t heard, someone on YouTube is trying to argue that the league actually hates the Chiefs and for years has been actively trying to stop them from making the playoffs.

The Chiefs' 2025 season needs to be circled & historians can debate what went so wrong with that season. And it wasn't just the ACL injury to Mahomes that killed them -- they were already playing bad & losing games up to that point.

Consider this: The Chiefs were 7-6 & on the ropes for a playoff spot going into the Chargers game where Mahomes got injured. The mighty Chiefs with arguably the future GOAT were 7-6 & fighting to stay alive for the postseason! If that's not mindboggling, then I don't know what is.

I've given it some thought that maybe the devastating loss to the Eagles in the SB had a carry over effect into this season. However, that doesn't make sense because the Chiefs lost to the Bengals in the 2021 AFCCG & came back with vengeance the following year winning the SB!

Not really, you can see a clear decline every year for the chiefs offense the last 3 seasons as well as getting more players that continue to commit penalties. For a big culprit I think they got so used to Mahomes making magic with his legs and penalties going their way they thought they could continue the run for the foreseeable future. Reid and the offense have been stale for years and they keep doing the same plays. The also didn’t follow Belichick’s philosophy of cutting players before it’s too late, take Jones and Kelce. They weren’t playing at their high level anymore and actively harming the team across multiple games. Their upsides weren’t overcoming the down. Me personally I thought they’d have a better record due to the defense and special teams continuing to carry them.

This season the defense and special teams finally couldn’t overcome and carry the poor to average offense anymore while they stopped getting game changing penalties going their way.

When they lost to the Bengals the offense was still playing average to elite and the following season their defense and special teams started getting better.

Mahomes coming back from injury will be a mystery till we see him. They need to change up their play calls, get a physical WR/TE, and maybe a better running back. The fact the GM chose not to get Breece Hall was dumb af. But the chiefs passing attack hasn’t been good making it easier to stop the run and I don’t think EB coming back helps them at all. If able, a great pickup would be AJ Brown. Defenses wouldn’t be able to cover the speed of Thornton or Worthy, physicality of Brown, footwork of Juju and H Brown in the slot, or Mahomes running out of the backfield.

I fully agree about them thinking they could ride the same roster the way Mahomes kept delivering, unlike Belichick who would trade/cut guys right when they started to fade, or were too costly. The Jones contract was startling. He's good, but... Chiefs also sank a chunk of money into aging offensive line players. Some got hurt this season as well.

I'm honestly curious to see what Bienemy has in the tank. He was quite innovative 5 years ago, the Ben Johnson of that day. Does he still have magic left? Or is he the next Pete Carroll where the game has passed him by?

Todd Monken won't turn Shedeur into much. I fear Shedeur is at best average, and that's the end of it. And yes, the worst player to ever be selected to a Pro Bowl. No, Monken will try with Shedeur, then be stuck with Watson, and if the Browns go 3-14 next year, he can easily say, "look at the players you gave me, they're junk!" and in 2027 that draft will be loaded with QB, and he can start anew.

Jim Schwartz was apparently quite upset when told he wasn't getting the Browns HC job, quickly packed his stuff up, and left the building refusing to talk to anyone. Someone is going to get a highly motivated defensive coordinator this off season. Does Mike McCarthy have his phone number?!

When I used to work at Discount Tire in Vegas, you have no idea how busy we would be doing air checks just from a rainy day or cold night. You could make bank on tips doing it and one did since he go out and do it with crutches for more sympathy.
