New BB Cups into Titanium BB Shell - Thread Prep?

Currently changing up to DA 9000 Mech Groupset.

The BB Cups arrived today. They are already treated with a grey thread lock.
My frame is Ti and in the past I have used an Anti-Seize application from Finish Line (real messy schitt that got everywhere). I stopped using this stuff and just went with Grease - no previous problems

I normally break the bike down, clean and re-grease & re-torque every 1-2 months depending on the riding conditions and will do so with the new Grouppo.

Should I use the Anti seize again with the cups, grease, more thread lock or Teflon Tape??

Anti sieze is best but grease OK too. NO Threadloc, unless you want them to be bonded in there. Teflon tape can't hurt, helps with creaking on some ti frames with threaded BBs.

OK Stink,,,this is the best grease you could buy IMO
Its also clear ...I use this on my bike,,,smooth and clean , no black greasy marks anywhere " except chain dirt"
its waterproof and eco friendly etc

The Anti-Seize I have is just a PIA to apply and it gets everywhere. I need to find a better way of applying it or try another source?
Any creaking or noise from the BB, I can strip out, clean and try the Teflon Tape.

Yup, antisieze can be a mess. The good news and bad news of it. Messy but stays put. I use my finger, then clean my finger right away otherwise it gets everywhere.

Just grease. I favour teflon based stuff as it stays put, was told to stop using lithium grease by a very well respected MTB mechanic so I did.

Clean threads, grease cup and shell, fingers to get it in, back it off, check engagement, finger tight, torque it up with a BB tool and clean away the excess grease with some kitchen roll. Never had an issue on my steel frames and my mates titanium MTB was done in the same way and is fine.

One small point, you've probably noticed the cups are smaller than some others. The ship with a plastic tool to tighten them. It's terrible. Park do a double ended BB tool, buy one.

Yes, I noticed the tool that shipped with the BB cups......initially, when I saw it in the wrapper i thought it was a spacer of some kind - it's in the bin now!

I have the required tools here for most of the work I do on my Bikes

I'm slowly building the bike back up and buying the Groupset in pieces as $$$ allow. Rear brake and Cassette are on the way.....cranks are next on the list

Means I'm on my MTB 5-6 days a week at the moment...which is a bit of an adjustment, but all good

I've use Loctite Blue 242 threadlocker on bikes and aircraft threaded parts where they need to be unthreaded for maintenance. However not used it on Ti parts yet.

Yes, Loctite 243 (or the Blue Stuff) is sold as "Removable Loctite" you can break the seal quite easily with a bit of elbow grease if required.

From their site: -Loctite 243 Primerless Threadlocker is an oil tolerant, removable, medium strength, blue threadlocker designed for the locking and sealing of threaded fasteners between 6 to 20 mm (1/4" and 3/4"). It not only works on active metals (e.g. brass, copper) but also on passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. It tolerates minor surface contaminations from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids.

This "Next Generation" threadlocker provides:

Upgraded temperature resistance - up to 360°F
Oil tolerant curing on as-received fasteners without cleaning
Primerless performance on both inactive and active metals

As above, I'm going to start with a grease application and see how that goes -

Grease is good. What you are trying to do is eliminate metal to metal bonding due to corrosion. Thin, watery loctite doesn't do this. Grease, anti sieze, does. Use lotz.
