Dave-strangely enough buddies going to St. Johan for Masters Worlds told me of doing some GFs for preparation and were amazed at how some Euro masters raced; specifically that they were pro fast. The locals would use the "injection" gesture to explain. None of those riders would show at races with testing including Worlds. It wasn't for several more years that I noticed that level of speed at USA Masters Natz from riders that never seemed so frisky.
