I have to say, losing 5 sponsors in one day has got to hurt. I don't see the benefits for him to keep denying. I'd say a confession is in the works.

This is like watching the Roman Empire being destroyed into pieces, fast forward. There is a God!

I believe he will confess. Maybe not for a while. But he is smart. He knows he has lost. He's a public relations genius and will figure a way to come out of this looking good still. LiveStrong will take on an anti-doping hue. He will tell everybody that he felt conflicted lying all those years, but had to because he didn't want lose the faith of the cancer survivors. He will educate the public about how humans can't do events like the le tour without doping. He will invite people to infer that he is still the best rider since everybody was doping. It's the best move for him now. After reflection and calculation he will make it. It will work to. Look at Bill Clinton. Lied bold-faced to Americans and is still loved. Clinton is even more LOVED because of the humanity they saw when he confessed. People WANT to believe in Lance. If he gives them half a reason, they will.

He's already lost them and I doubt that a confession will bring them instantly back (if ever at all).

So only if a 'redemption' will help rebuild his brand is he likely to confess. At the moment, I think it's too early for a redemption, but you can never start recovery early enough. If he ever tries to redeem himself it has to begin with a full confession, so you never know.

I don't. I honestly think he thinks he's innocent, delusional/irrational people really believe that stuff.

I don't think so bud, not this time. This time he knows he's done. He cannot spin this any way to make himself look good, can't happen.

LOL, this is great, I agree with you that's the type of BS he'll try feeding folks to divert folks off of him. More "deny, deny, deny...it's a witch hunt" nonsense will follow, I'm almost willing to bet.

He will educate the public about how humans can't do events like the le tour without doping.

Greg LeMond should show up with a sign saying "Lance, you're not only a huge fraud, but also a liar, I won 3 tdf's totally clean, it can be done".
He will invite people to infer that he is still the best rider since everybody was doping.

LOL, the "everybody was doping too" excuse doesn't work, why? "Everyone" WASN'T doping, just many.

It's the best move for him now.

Is it wrong of me to wish he'd take a long ride off a short cliff?

I'm not so sure....I just think people are tired of the nonsense with the guy.

I don't think he can confess. He's boxed himself in with his testimony in the SCA case. He'd be admitting he lied. If you think things are bad now...

The chance of being tried for perjury after Bonds and Clemens is probably fairly low, especially when the trial would be in Texas. He may have more to fear from the British.

He might reason that he has the financial resources to settle all the civil stuff. He is a psycho and his public image is the driving force in his life.

You might be right. Just my prediction. Guess we'll see.

Today, he is scheduled to give a speech as part of LiveStrong's 15th Anniversary. Do you think he takes that opportunity to open up and make an admission?

I don't see how he can ignore it. In the last ten days his whole image and legacy have completely crumbled. It's hard to imagine even Lance being that myopic and stubborn.

But I can hope...

Are you still sticking with this line?

Let's see how accurately my prediction turns out after the Oprah therapy session.

It's going to depend solely on the way the American media reacts. At this point it has completely turned on him, which I find welcome but surprising. Even the generic know-nothings at places like ESPN don't want anything to do with him and seem to finally have become aware of the real him.

If the media here remains that way, the endgame you spell out will be awfully difficult to come by. Ever. If, however, they buy this last-ditch attempt at the salvation of his own mind, your prophecy will unfortunately come to fruition. Eventually.

It's either going to be the final nail in the coffin or something we look back at as a tipping point. Time will tell.

Amidst all the lies, there is one truth Lance has on his side - they're all dopers! If he can get this across to the public, and portray cycling as a poisoned well, I see no reason the public won't forgive him.
