However, this is a slap in the face. How can he come and bs everybody like that?

Not the first time Nibali comes out with such disgusting BS that is clearly an insult to the intelligence of the fans. He's up there with the most hypocritical and cynical pros in the sport, and I really, really hope he gets busted. Not sure why you'd try to frame this as another Sky vs the world thread if your intention truly was to protest the perceived lack of talk about other teams, though.

We got a athlete like Froome who showed no potential at all and transformed into a GT winning rider in the span of a few weeks talking BS all the time. I'm totally fine with Nibali saying stuff like this, this guy actually showed potential when he was still younger. He got better every year. Sure he uses doping but if he has to compete with juicers like Froome that sprint up the mountain it's only fair.

But that wouldn't be martinos style. Martino would set up an account pretending to be French, and claiming to hate Italy, yet nonetheless showing 0 sporting knowledge outside of Italy and arguing all the time that Italians are a superior race of people who would never dope.

I do wonder if a thread on Nibali on an Italian forum could reach 30 000 posts though, with people like myself on one side and chauvinistic blind believers on another.

Or would the greater cycling knowledge and experience, as well as the experience of having seen plenty of favourites already fall to doping, have taught most Italian cycling fans that just because you want someone to be clean doesn't mean they are.

No doubt there would be some that believe he is clean. But would it get to 30 000. Are there people in Italy who would be willing to dedicate their entire lives to creating hundreds of accounts on a forum like this with the sole purpose of launching insults at those who doubt Nibali?

The irony is that only skyfans could think someone like Nibali or Horner is clean. I find it hard to belive there exist an italian cycling forum dedicated to dreaming big about Nibali, or a spanish forum where you will get banned if you think Contador ever doped.

I guess the reason for this amazing ignorance is because most skyfans are very new to the sport, and also because they get brainwashed by all the skyfriendly articles in the mainstream media and never see any different opinions. So, when they discover the clinic they think it's just a bunch of crazy brit haters.
