No live coverage of the angliru stage on uk tv

Looking at next weeks tv schedules. Eurosport once again have dumped cycling for boring tennis ( I hope it rains) and Moto gp on eurosport 2 which isn't live. Itv 4 has a pre existing agreement to show the touring cars so it won't be on there either. So it looks like a scramble to find a dodgy Internet stream

ITV4 coverage has been very good, they go on earlier than Eurosport and have lots on the stage preview, interesting too.

Matt Keenan is allright though his problem is that hes on his own, so after every ad break the studio spends about 3 minutes analyzing whats going on, answering questions etc.

Then after the stage you get lots of analysis.

Importantly, they show a lot of enthusiasm for it

They debate interesting topics. Dont dwell too long on things like "what is the roll of the leader in the peloton" which on ES can go on for 20 minutes, but give every subject a bit of time then move on.

It would take a lot to win me over from the home of cycling but they are doing a very good job.

I agree with all of that. They're clearly one a minimalist budget. I hope the viewing figures are decent.

They're certainly giving lots of time for post stage analysis, which is nice, although re-runs of Minder are fun too.

Can anyone post a link for the Eurosport live stream please? I'd like to watch the highlights this morning ...

Par for the course. The real irony being that there are gaps in Eurosport's "live" tennis and Motorbikes, at that time.
All they would have to do is go to the tennis an hour later.
Maybe having Wiggins in contention, may cause a re-think?
Having said that, they aren't showing today's ITT either.

A complete shambles, yet they expect loyalty.

I absolutely hate the way eurosport dump their cycling coverage because of course rafa nadal beating the s**t out of a ball for 20 minutes before a predictable win is far more exciting. At least the ITT is on itv4 today

I wonder if Wiggins is still in contention they might show the Vuelta on ITV3 that day. Its probably only something like a repeat of "Morse" that they'd be showing anyway so I'm sure it wouldn't be to much hassle to put it on there.

I have really enjoyed listening t o Matt Keenan. His only fault is some of his pronunciations. say the word Vuelta. For years he has called this race the Volta a Espana.

ITV have said that they will be streaming it through their website, and that's normally quite a good connection

Thanks for that. A bit of a safety net.

It's Eurosport who really annoy me.
All the times that girlie clay court tennis has overrun (particularly at Giro time) and they give us a load of guff about live scheduling, bla bla.

So what do they do, for the US open? Because FM starts at 5pmCET, they cancel the cycling, so as not to miss the first 30-45 minutes of their schedule 510 minute live coverage. Yes, that's right, almost 7 and a half hours and they cannot spare a half an hour to show THE stage of the Vuelta, or a Brit, today, probably winning something for once.

Im not in the Uk but whats annoying is that those matches are worthless.

Its usually a random seeded player against a low ranked unseeded player, 3 sets, or when its girls, 2 sets.

Its their equivalent of what is for us, the first 100km of a stage where a break forms and riders just ride along. Boring warmup that one wants to get through as quickly as possible. Showing that instead of cycling is a disgrace.

is it geographically restricted?

yes, its geo restricted. accessible with a decent british proxy.

If not there will be plenty of other streaming options.
