Biggest race of the Olympics tomorrow. The only one that can stop Klaebo from magical 6 golds.

Frida can actually get 5 as well, I see no reason not to put her in team sprint with this form.

As much as I am not a fan of Norwegian dominance the effect of that is less for me in individual starts; the Norwegians all want to beat each other as much as anyone else, the race itself should be fascinating. A Hedegart win would make me very very happy. I don't have anything against Klaebo per se, I just want to. see a big race.

May Gus Schumacher have a great day and great skis. :D

Women's relay has the potential to be very dull; I can't see anyone having an answer for Andersson, Karlsson, Dahlqvist, and Sundling (assuming that will be their team); what a team you have when skiers like Ribom and Ilar get left off! In turn I can't see anyone else having an answer for Norway for Silver either. Perhaps we can hope for an interesting race for Bronze at least.

Frida in the Team Sprint would be interesting; but doubt it will happen; these are Swedes, they'll make sure the starts get divided evenly, plus she needs to rest up for the 50 next week. Wouldn't want anyone getting within 3:30 or so of her, that would be cutting it a little close. :tearsofjoy:

Outside of Diggins, no Yanks in the top 30 today. They will be crushed in the relay if they ski this way.

According to the Clugnet/Vermeulen podcast there have been only 9000 tickets availible for the cross country races and that’s including the spots along the course. Biathlon if I’m not wrong have 19000 tickets in the stadium.
Got it, did not know that. Thanks for the info.

Apparently the ticket and hotel prices in Val di Fiemme are sky rocket high aswell. Remember reading the same about Planica Worlds

From non-household names Ruuskanen could do well today if stars align.

Be interesting to see whether hedegart can take it. He should, but if conditions are as fast as yesterday, kläbo might benefit.

Klaebo looks in insane form, it'd be nice for someone else, but I'm guessing he's pretty motivated and knows he can go deep, as he wins the next 2 events easily regardless.

It's even warmer today, around 6°C, and will stay like this during the days over most of the coming week.

They used salt yesterday which resulted in the fast conditions, but no idea if they plan on doing so again.

Any news om if Laegreid is starting? His head can't be in a good place right now, he could shoot like Lampic.

He is starting. I don't think he wins but I am not expecting a meltdown. Biggest chance for Giacomel to take the gold (together with the mass-start). Perrot will likely be on the podium again together with one Norwegian, maybe Dale this time.

Regarding XC skiing, I think today might be the one where a Norwegian treble happens, Hedegart is the biggest favourite after dominating this distance throughout the season but has no experience in peak for major Championships, Amundsen hasn't been looking good and Nyenget looked good in the 20k but is usually better in classic so maybe the stars align but Klæbo to finally win an individual skating race, but I still hope Hedegart wins. I am expecting the French to do well after the skiathlon but getting into the podium could be too much to ask for.

Man, Ree would have loved a hard course like this one. Amundsen was sick before the Olympics, but I expect him to get better.
I hope no salt will be involved, we don't need to try to repeat the last WC...

Hede is loosing this one.
No offence to Klaebo, bit this is the wordt skating OG field in a long time. No Russians, no Ree and Krüger (both perfect for a hard course in soft conditions), Amundsen got sick before the Olympics and the best Central European skaters Moch and Vermeulen are totally out of shape.
