Sparebanken Sør rider Vegard Robinson Bugge has tested positive for terbutalin during Tour des Fjords.
Apparently he has taken Astma medicine Bricanil which contains this substance. It seems he actually has astma, and has used and have had permission for the medicine in question back in 2009. Since then he has switched medicine, and no longer has pemission to use the medicine in question. According to the rider`s DS, Bugge has stated that he ran out of his normal medicine (Ventolin) during Tour des Fjords.
Seems Bugge admits to have used Bricanil and won`t ask for the B sample to be tested.
First impression it seems he has been plain stupid, but one never knows, might be deliberte for all i know.
Also seems reactions to use of this substance from UCI varies from a warning to a 6 months ban.
