What about olympic champion and multiple world champion long-distance speed skating Sven Kramer? He was 2nd in that TT...
And again, you're picking out 1 result. Not responding to the results as a pro I also gave.

Sven Kramer? Okay, He turned out to be a great cyclist. You really haven't proved us how Gesink is a great time trialler. Find us some results in the time trial against some proper opposition and then I will be convinvced he is a good time trialler.

I was picking out that one result because YOU brought it up as evidence of his tt ability &/or potential.

Oh nobody cares about Scandinavia where you live with penguins and wrestle with polar bears

In the Netherlands it's quite uncommon, at least not in these quantities. There's hardly more than 5/10cm if there even is snow. Now it's a half meter

FACT Pinguins only live on the southern hemisphere.
Sorry dude, to take down your entire hypothesis that easy

irregardless of his tt he is this anyway. ;)

gesink has had some good tt , and some really bad ones. Overall you would say it is a weak point in his game. But he is capable of a decent (this does not mean he will come close to winning a tt, but limiting his losses or staying close to the other gc men) tt if he trains right, the course has a few lumps in etc.
He needs to improve in it I agree (just like schleck, rod etc), but I'm not too worried about this.

Sorry, I phrased it wrong. I mean he hasn't proved that he is a great time trialler. My bad. With GT routes being for the pure climbers nowadays, Gesink will should feature for many years. Don't take it personally Dekker_T but he is a weak time triallist.

Fear not, dear fanboys and skeptics, Gesink is working on it. From a recent interview:

"I always thought that my position had to be a lot lower to do a better time trial. But in the windtunnel they concluded that it was ok for me to sit up a little more, without it being detrimental to the aerodynamics. As long as my head stays below my shoulders. My handlebars were lifted a few centimeters, and my saddle was moved a little as well."

A nice detail: the new position is closer to his position on the regular bike, and as a result he can use his power more effectively.

"The coming months I'll have to work on that new position, have to get used to it. I'll surely visit the windtunnel again to do the final tweaking. There's a lot to gain for me in that respect. And to be honest, it's necessary. Because if you look at my power and my talent as an endurance athlete, I should be able to do a good time trial. But until now it never really paid off. Certainly not in flat time trials. I'll have to improve there, if I want to improve my classification on the grand tours."
