I voted today on behalf of Phil who could not be with us as he's currently on a training ride with the rest of the BMC tour squad.

Contador have always his best day the day after the second rest day. So remake of 2011? Nice stage for offensive

He's always wanted to get a hairpin named after him on the Alpe, so I think he's going to try to isolate Froome first time up, and then try and attack him just before the summit to try and drop him on the descent. Maybe.

I think he'll wait until friday, maybe something happens until that, saturday would be too late.
But the best for the team IMO would be to make Kreuziger the man who they work for, get him a good placing, and give a free hand to Contador. If he truly don't care about second place, he must try to go and win or die. If he win, that means he can do it alone, but if he dies, he shouldn't kill all the team for him.

I think he'll attack twice, and will need allies from other teams. The first ascent of Alpe d'Huez, then Le Grand Bornand. Who knows, maybe Froome will crack, even though it looks highly unlikely right now. Cycling is an unpredictable sport.

At this point, anyone winning is better than Froome winning. I literally got sick watching Froome on Ventoux.

Сontador just needs to climb better. Froome is not blame for the fact that Contador is prepared so badly and can not match him.

To ride Alpe-d'Huez alone?

I'm not blaming Froome for Contador's climbing. I'm blaming Froome for Froome's climbing. Contador is just about on par with the other GC contenders.

I tend to think you blame Froome for him beating Contador so easily while you clearly support the second on by defaults

Looking at Porte today, Ventoux, Ax 3, it seems Last sunday was a one off. Froome is not going to isolated easy at all.

What isolation will give if he should catch only Contador's attack?

Not a one off, methinks. There seems to be a pattern to it...

Pais Vasco stage 5: Porte burns himself to win the stage in a short solo break
Pais Vasco stage 6. Porte underperforms in the ITT, losing the overall to Quintana

Tour de France stage 8: Porte burns himself to rank 2nd in the stage behind Froome
Tour de France stage 9: Porte dropped on the second climb

Tour de France stage 11: Porte burns himself to rank 4th in the ITT
Tour de France stage 12: Porte dropped before SaxoBank/Belkin attack in the crosswind

So apparently, Alpe d'Huez stage is right after the second ITT...

I wonder if Kreuziger cares as little about a podium place as Contador. I don't think Contador alone is strong enough to turn the race on its head, they both need to commit to an attack.

Porte interviewed on Eurosport said he will just ride the ITT, so he isn't going to put any effort into it.
