The investigation lead to the arrest of Italian doctor Enrico Lazzeri and the discovery of the use of ozone therapy, or ozonated autohemotherapy as it also known. Some countries do allow limited use of ozone therapy but the results have never been confirmed in medical trials and carry a risk of embolism and could damage red blood cell's membranes.

anyone know more about this?
the risk sound similar to EPO - so if the risk level is the same, it probably wont stop riders from using it.

That's crazy.

Wiki says "Ground-level ozone is an air pollutant with harmful effects on the respiratory system."

and "Exposure of 0.1 to 1 ppm produces headaches, burning eyes, and irritation to the respiratory passages.[6] Even low concentrations of ozone in air are very destructive to organic materials such as latex, plastics, and lungs."

There seem to be many different means of delivery.

1) Injection - Auto hemotherapy; or direct injection into a vein or tumour, saline.
2) Insufflation - in the ear; vaginal; rectal.
3) Inhalation - Fine mist dispersion.
4) Ingestion - Ozonated water, ozonated olive oil in capsule form.
5) Transdermal - Cupping with a funnel. Sauna.

it would only really be useful in injection form the rest of those treatments are for killing bacteria viruses etc... through oxidization. used improperly its dangerous stuff. 35% h202 which is hydrogen peroxide which is ozone in water basically. will burn right through your skin. ozone generators which i have used in the aquarium industry can also kill you in an unventilated situation. the injectable method is used in hiv treatments magic johnson is one of the more known people who have used this treatment in his case seems to have worked.
