Looks like Schachmann rides similar to Alaphilippe and Teuns... Full gas in the first half and fading in the second.

I don't think he would win the overall if the weekend is raced entirely.
But as things stand he indeed has a very good chance.
He has a nice margin over the climbers.
A decent chance of defending it even if the race doesn't get shortened.

Asking Kragh to wait for Benoot when he was dropped the other day may turn out not to have been the smartest decision from Sunweb...

But on the other hand, even if they didn't, he'd still be 2nd at best now, and if the mountain stages are raced, he is likely to drop out of contention anyway.

If he has improved since last year, yes.
Otherwise, I still think he won't win. He lost a lot of time in harder stages in every one week race last year.

Well he almost won Algarve last year and his first strong performance as professional was the vuelta stage to Angliru. Strong uphill when motivated yeah but he should be that now.
