Of all the distance differences between men and women, the 100m vs 110m hurdles makes the least sense to me.
It's so that they can match the number of hurdles and the rhythm of the strides. Men are typically taller than women so the hurdles need to be slightly further apart, therefore for the same number of hurdles, a slightly different race length is required.

In the 400 it doesn't matter as the hurdles are far enough apart for athletes to get a good sighter.

I think maybe it's because men take slightly longer steps and the gap between the hurdles would be at an awkward distance if it was only 100 metres.

Got our second from weight lifting, suddenly it's kind of easy after two barren weeks. Last and only time Indonesia won more than one gold was Barcelona 1992.

Sorry for the constant nationalistic update, promise won't do it in cycling forum🤣

Malaika Mihambo had to be driven off in a wheelchair after finishing second in the long jump with breathing trouble. I guess this is the new thing for the second-placed athletes.

There are too many track events honestly, sick of the Americans statpadding against candlestick makers and part-time strawberry pickers in these obscure 'hurdles' events. We need to get rid of some and bring back the Individual Pursuit and have 4 Road Races and time trials for different types of cyclist. Like Foliforov going for gold in the MTT event.

Remco about to deploy the new wheelchair-meta when he gets a hiding from Dani Martinez in a random Algarve uphill sprint.

You could get gold on 'Olympic Gold' for SEGA Master System in the 110 hurdles by just mashing the buttons and battering all the hurdles over, a tactic I'm unfortunately yet to see repeated in the Olympic Games, though that guy who just came 3rd gave it a good go.

There was also a Miniclip browser game for the 2008 Olympics, where if you made a false start and kept pressing the right button, you'd be flying out of the starting block on the next run.

The US Men's basketball team is getting badly outplayed. For being "The greatest basketball team in history." they sure look like the 2nd best team on the court. If there was one gold medal I wouldn't care seeing going to another team, that is the one.

...and gets cocky like most of our athletes when on top for long enough, then I might look for a Dane to support like in badminton

How can you support a Dane in badminton - or any sport - if you can't even tell us apart?

BTW; I'm not Toby!

Or am I?

I don't have to be able to tell them apart to support a Dane, do I? I don't understand your logic. Like someone here said - I won't mention name this time, too risky : Danes are Danes!

The Serbian team was fortunate not to lose to Australia in the last match, but today they were the ones who weren't able to get over the line.

She had Covid before the games and has still some problems. In the last meetings before the games she also did not took full six trys in the competitions. Today she did and that was the price she had to pay.

I think in sports (not Cycling) Covid is not taking seriously.
