Not who do I THINK will win, who do I WANT to win!

#1: Georgie (Hincapie)
#2: Taylor Phinney

I mean, if there were justice, after all the also-rans for George, doncha think just one could fall his way? And Taylor? Something about this kid just feels like this guy could be a diamond. I don't remember seeing anyone where I saw this kind of promise since Lemond was a junior.

#3: Geraint Thomas

One of the friendliest guy in cycling and awesome rider.

He'll be a little busy holding hands with Swifty tomorrow.

I don't understand the hype about Phinney.

Haha maybe because he is American;)
But one thing that justifies the hype is how good he is in prologues, he looked great in the two prologues he rode last year. He road a pretty good overall race in eneco tour and showed he had a decent sprint. This was all done despite him having a terrible first half of the season with all the injuries. Interesting to see how he would do in PR tomorrow, I think he can do well. And he is only 21, LOADS of time to develop. Not everyone is like Sagan or Kittel.

He was pretty dominating as an espoir though. But it turns out his competitors weren't that strong ;)

(Coen Vermeltfoort springs to mind)

So you would pick 2 riders for a Roubaix team?..

But that's a strong two.

I actually quite like Phinney. Feels right to root for any youngster who loves the cobbles.

You must really hate Cancellara to want to have him ride Paris Robaix[sic!] alone. ;)

Actually, I think the best team would be a full squad of Fabian clones. Imagine the suffering they would bring onto the peloton.

Going to be a busy day for Fabi then. Picking up water, staying out of the wind, winning the race!

He did alright in 10/11 on his own.

Jorge Hincrapie and Faylor Phinney, a Dream team? I think in you mean dreamer's team.

I which case I want a carrot to win.
So many years at the a*s end of the peloton, eating Paris-Roubaix dirt from those big, burly Belgie-Swiss types, just because that bully Pat McNut says they have to be there. (or else there was an unfortunate invite in the post)
Go Izaguirre, Perez, Perez and Urtasun................er...........Perez.:D;)

I think a squad full of Ruben Plazas would be even better. They would probably lap the field in Paris-Roubaix

Being really good at something means you make it look easy. You could be negative and say his competition was weak, but you might also realize that he seems to be making it look easy.

I would only pick 1.

Fabian Cancellara.

Though obviously not for tomorrow.

Yay Hitch! Good choice, too bad about that last crash. Cancellara would have been my #3.

You know, name-calling is not mellow.

I remember years when Hincapie was way out in front - and he always said he liked this race. When I've ridden with George (all of one time), and when I talked to him, he seemed pretty humble and nice as a star. I HAVE met a lot of stars in my time, and not many of them come across as humble. This will be, what, his 17th? Pretty damn impressive to be there for that many P-R's. Maybe you don't like him for some reason - but how about just picking somebody else instead of denigrating these guys? You picked your nick for a reason, show us you are proud of it and can live up to it.

Are they a dreamer's team? I think I made it pretty plain in the first post I was thinking about a dreamer's podium. George has about a snowball's chance in hell of winning - he is getting older. Of course, snowballs have won in this race before. As for Taylor, realistically, I don't think he is going to be riding to win. I think he has about as much chance as I would have given Summeren last year before the race.

I would love to see J-Rod vs Samu sprint for the Paris Roubaix win. So mine's

1. J-Rod
2. Samu Sanchez

1. Sylvain Chavanel as leader- he will be next year, when he gets sick of riding for Boonen.
2. Marcus Burghardt- solid domestique- will develop into RC.
3. Daniel Oss- as co-leader.
4. Steve Chainel ( did a lot of work for Offredo last year at M-SR ) and has potential.
5. Matthew Hayman ( the ultimate Cobbled domestique ).
6. For next year ( Mitchell Docker ).
7. Gabriel Rasch- solid work ethic.
8. Young talent- Matteo Trentin ( has ridden well for OPQS this year ).
